Dawkins giving up on blocks
Not at the table Karlos replied to Uncle Monkeyhead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Have a good blocking TE and a reserve lineman that has played blocking TE a bunch in the past. You’d think it would be common sense to put them in to help a line that is being abused. Nope. -
Well that's it for me. I'm heading to the shower.

Thursday Night Football Game Balls

I don't start a GAME BALLS thread after a loss. -

I agree. For all those saying McD just wants to run the ball, he wants balance. He has said in his pressers that you need a good passing game AND a good running game. That's what keeps defenses honest. Without a good passing game, defenses key on the run, and vice versa. The worst thing that could have happened to the Bills was Allen becoming the MVP with a bunch of no names at WR. That gave McD permission to ride that wave and ignore the offense again in favor of the defense. Last year the Bills made it to the AFCCG with the no name WRs...but also a once again banged up defense... because the defensive players can't make it through a whole season. The biggest problems this season are the Coordinators. McD has already taken over defensive play calling and that has helped. The offense is all on Brady, who is clueless. He is incapable of adjusting during games and yesterday it got his QB killed. I wonder, even if the Bills had a true number 1 receiver, could Brady even handle him to be effective in his offense? None of us are crazy about Keon, but has Brady even tried him in the slot where he was most effective in college? Brady has only one answer for everything...and scheming of any kind does not seem to be involved.

Soft is right

I know it's cool to hate McDermott right now, but I promise you he did not watch our offense hang 40 points in a win and pull Brady aside to chastise him for scoring too much lol. Houston is just a lot better defensively than Tampa is and both of our tackles seemed to be playing hurt.

11/20/2025 Bills @ Texans post game thread
Low Positive replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm beyond angry, even after sleeping on it. For the second time in three games, what I saw was a team that would rather lose than play hard enough to meet the urgency of the moment. The Texans had their season on time line last night, and we didn't match their effort. If the team doesn't care, maybe I should stop caring, too. -
Tre gave up a few plays but thought he did OK overall. Not being able to stop the run, especially the 3rd and short plays (Taron Johnson dragged for a first on one of them) was painful to watch.

Coaching is not giving them the scheme to stop the opponent’s rush. Whether it’s Kromer or Brady is anyone’s guess. Whoever plans the blocking calls and in turn whoever is calling them presnap is seriously letting Allen down.

We added Josh Palmer! 😂 -
I'm kinda in this camp... but only if he can handle it... only those in the building will know. Today will be a telling day for the staff with him.... is he going to rise up, or be resentful with a "shouldve played me yesterday" attitude. I should clarify the - shouldve played me mentality is ok, as long as its in a healthy competitive way, and he looks locked in... I dunno that he has the maturity to handle that benching, could def see him permanently checking out mentally and leaving him resentful about being in BUFF. Time will tell!

11/20/2025 Bills @ Texans post game thread
Livinginthepast replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
This was the problem yet again. Our defense doesnt know how to force fumbles anymore. We never seem to want to smack out the ball but cannot wrap up either. Our soft zone rarely is close enough to get us INTs. Our easy to read defense doesnt disguise anything so we rarely get the misthrows by opposing QBs (like Allen's deflected INT last night). Hell our DBs never turn around in pass coverage to get INTs on underthrows either. All from a defensive coach?? -

I’m not going to get on Brady a ton for last night. Guys didn’t get open and his offensive line was abused all night. I don’t care who is calling plays or who the QB is . The Texans performance against us was very similar to what the Eagles did to Mahomes last year in the SB. The fact we were inside the 20 with a shot to win was remarkable

The New President Autopen
The Frankish Reich replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Thanks. The whole pardon thing, from whichever side, bothers me. When I was a relatively new lawyer for the feds, I got one of those dreaded assignments - reviewing case files in response to pardon requests. I probably overdid it. I really dug into a few cases and wrote really solid memos for the DOJ Pardon Attorney (there is such a thing, although it's now very politicized). I never really followed up on what happened; they weren't high-profile cases. But nothing was political. We were instructed to look at things like acceptance of guilt and evidence of rehabilitation, and the view of the prosecuting agency and the victims of the crime, and the value of a pardon for restoring certain civil rights like voting or owning a gun. I took my work seriously and left it to the Pardon Attorney to make his or her final recommendation to the President. So it saddens me to see a President just ignore that process and ran through pardons for political or other (including political contributions) reasons. It is easy to make fun of the bureaucratic process, but without it, this is what we get. People - not the Pardon Attorney after full review - sticking Pardon letters into the autopen or in front of the President to apply a sharpie signature without even knowing the first thing about what he's doing or who it impacts. -
Seems like the wheels are falling off. All of a sudden, we are in a situation where it seems like a rebuild is in order, and not a typical retool. I'm usually pretty hopeful, but that took a big hit yesterday. I realized that we're just another team - we can't reel off a couple of TD's in a quarter easily if we need it anymore. We're not explosive on offense, and have one of the most vanilla/soft defenses I think I've ever seen in Buffalo. There is no quick fix. Other teams are starting to move past us as they ascend, and while we're regressing. The reality is starting to hit: we might not get a title w/ Allen.

Greg Rousseau has turned out to be a complete slug.
Avisan replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's not a game-changing pass rusher, but he isn't paid like one, and those don't typically last until his draft slot, either. Run defense isn't a one-man show, and he is extremely effective at his 1/11th. He renewed this year and is the 15th-highest paid DE, and will probably be down to ~30th or so after the next wave of extensions. No, we didn't. The guys paid to get to the QB make literally double what he does. -
Division is out at this point…have to do it as a wildcard
Buffalo03 replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I honestly kinda would hope to get New England round 1 and then if we win that game, go to Denver with the Broncos as the 1 seed in round 2. The Broncos have a great defense but their offense is terrible. They beat the Jets 13-11 and the Raiders 10-7. Those would be the 2 matchups if I had to pick, that I would prefer -
