If it really was family driven - rather than complaining and asking to be cut because he was not being used and was inactive - he could of said - I really want to get home and therefore want to be released to go back to my family. He may of had a plan, but he and his agent bungled the entire situation and Beane stopped a future opponent and a potential SB opponent from getting better.

There is no argument there. What I would offer is that with both Bosa and AJE scheduled to be free agents, it wasn't the worst plan. Derrick Henry is the nightmare RB matchup for Sean McDermott's defense. Joe Burrow is the nightmare QB matchup for McDermott's defense. To have a prayer against Burrow, the corners need to play press/man coverage and the D-Line needs to get quick pressure. Our defense has historically been mostly zone with an inconsistent pass rush.

Well, we had to waive what's his name to make room for Slay. So this whole transaction caused the Bills to lose a depth player without replacement.
