In the grand scheme of things, they are in great shape......injuries are 100% going to happen. When you look at who and the significance of most of them they are quite healthy. Having said that, CB2 is an issue.......but what teams dont have something going on?

I was being sarcastic, sorry if it didn’t land.

I think he could be a mentor to Walker. Similar styles. For 6 weeks before Ogunjobi they are not rolling with 2 rookies and Carter as the reserve DT. I think Carter is in a tough spot. Phillips was the better player last year. I dont think Carter has shown anything to change that. Maybe trade him for a young Db or a 4th or 5th rd pick.

Why wouldnt he know?

That’s obscure, nothing like a profound quote from a guy who pretends for a living.

it was from the 80's. it's not perfect but i remember hearing it close enough. wrestler was talking about real struggles in life
-
I don't recall JP LostMan coming back to the team four times.... Phillips is 32, not 42.

Joe Marino’s All 22 from Bucs preseason game

Maybe. I think you let him be Godzilla for 10-15 plays a game. Good or bad create havoc inside. If he gets beat up by a double team at least he held up the other lineman from making the second level. Im not sure he needs to do more than that. Be a real ass kicker. Keep him fresh to unleash on interior olines. I think Sanders has a shot to be very good and sooner than later replace Daquan Jones. Immediately on passing downs with Sanders and Oliver with Rousseau and Bosa is the best 4 Buffalo has had in a long time. -
Your point stands but I don't see why bringing Sanders or Walker into it yet makes sense. They're rookies, and from everything I've seen/read, they look like really promising players. The crux of the issue is we whiffed on Carter and got lied to by Ogunjobi, which is why we're in this spot. Also, McBeane usually only carry one traditional 1T on the active roster, so calling everyone who isn't that a 3T isn't correct within the context of their system (i.e. Phillips and Walker will be used as rushers from the 1T spot on passing downs). Again, I like how they handled the Phillips signing as it gave them a chance to evaluate Carter, Sanders, and Walker. I suspect they had Phillips ready to go the whole time. He's a useful piece. If we need to do this again next year, then you'll have better grounds to make the point you're trying to make.

Plus, he knows how to dress for the weather. Some strengths are undervalued. 🎵Big guy in a little coat🎶

Report: Terry McLaurin requests trade

Yeah, it's a lot of Cap Magic. His 2025 salary became fully guaranteed (it wasnt previously). Then a $9M signing bonus paid immediately. Then the rest of it is in guarantee conversions as he's still on the team... $15.28M guaranteed at sign (signing bonus + 2025 salary + $5M of 2026 salary) Additional $4.41M of 2026 salary fully guarantees 2/9/2026 (injury guaranteed at sign) $6.22M of 2027 salary fully guarantees the 5th league day of 2026 (injury guaranteed at sign) Additional $2.91M of 2027 salary fully guarantees the 5th league day of 2027 (injury guaranteed at sign) $1.18M of 2028 salary injury guaranteed only 2026 Option Bonus: $7.4M 2026-29 Per Game Active Bonus: $20,000 ($340,000) -
Not when he is on the field but the guy is hardly ever available. As a performer for the Bills he has been a bum. How long have we been saying that? We can't bank on hope
-
Somebody needs too call Beane and let him know.
-
That makes sense as you'd want to allocate your scouts to find the best possible talent in the country. Small or big college programs. I just think it's easier to recruit and sign unrestricted free agents if they play college football 18 miles away.
-
Nothing you said is untrue. I just think it's a bad look to spend 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks on 3Ts over the course of two drafts, sign another in free agency for decent money, then STILL wind up having to bring a Jordan Phillips back right before the season. You'd hope that with the draft capital and free agency dollars spent and with Oliver Sanders Walker Carter Ogunjobi ....all of whom are entirely or primarily 3Ts (regardless of where the coaching staff is trying to force them to play)... The Bills wouldn't need to pull the Jordan Phillips lever again. But here we are.

Game (two week) thread - Ravens at Bills SNF

They have a slightly better than average back 7. CB2, Slot, & second LB all JAGS. -
MAC teams beat Big Ten teams at least once a season, but not last season. Minnesota is middling team in their conference. Here is the depth chart for the Bulls:

Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL

It's pretty much this, Bills can't afford on the cap a true proven game wrecker. they gotta keep drafting 1-2 D-line players each year to see if they can find a diamond in the rough. I also think they are gonna go after older or injury prone once dominant pass rushers with warts like Bosa and hope maybe you get one great season out of them here or there to fill in the gaps. The Bills actually were just unfortunate with Von because Von in 2022 up until he got hurt (on a rather freak play) was producing like an elite pass rusher despite the rotational snaps. Von's pass rush numbers were up there with Myles Garrett that year despite Von only having played 55% of snaps vs. Myles 75% (of course Von nowhere near the run defender). The Bills really just can't afford to pay retail for a pass rusher, it's either gonna be take swings in the draft or sign upper-mid level older stars like Bosa and hope you get a healthy bounce back season. -
We're a SB contender relying on rookies to fill big roles in the interior of our defense. I'm sure they hoped Carter would've developed into something useful. As it stands, he looks like a bust. Meanwhile, because they didn't have Phillips in camp, they gave valuable reps to their young players. Sanders and Walker will likely contribute this year, but asking them to do so right away in a meaningful role isn't the best winning strategy. Signing Phillips says absolutely nothing about the long-term expectations for Sanders and Walker. It does say something about Carter, though.

I don't really know what the "$30 million in total guarantees" actually means. Since it is a contract extension, I guess it means that his entire contract, including the already existing contract, has/had $30 million in guarantees. But what he got guaranteed at signing of the extension was only $15.28 million. If we cut James Cook right now, the Bills would have $15.6 million in dead money. I don't think he has $30 million in guaranteed money included in the $46 million that was part of the extension. It is just reported in a way to make Cook and his agent look like they got more than they actually did. These are his details: Career Earnings: $13,256,782 Career APY: $4,418,927 Potential Earnings: $55,527,782 Total Guarantees: $18,376,594 So, is the $30 million simply a rough combination of his career earnings up to this point plus his total future guarantees of $18 million (15 from his new extension and 3 from existing)?

All true and very concerning. However, the Buffalo offense still has a stout O-line, stout run game, with some very good tight ends. Coleman, Shavers could step up and be really good. It also might show some rust on Josh, along with the timing being off for the first few games. Besides, we haven't really seen the 1st string offense in any preseason game, so who knows how good that offense might be to start the season? Buffalo Bills biggest worry is their own undefined defensive secondary and ability or not to stop the Raven's run game. King Henry! Besides, those Ravens will want revenge for knocking them out of the playoffs last season. Ravens @ 8:20 Sun in Buffalo, @ NY Jets 1 pm, and the Dolphins in Buffalo 8 pm Thursday are the first three. Not going to be an easy start for this season. I'm hoping for the best! Go Bills!
