Battle for the Division: Bill and Pats remaining games poll.
Gregg replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
For tonight's game the Pats are going with their rivalry jerseys. The Giants are bringing back their 80's look with the word "GIANTS" across the helmet and they are wearing white jerseys at home vs the Packers. The Rams are also going with their rivalry jersey this weekend. https://gridiron-uniforms.com/GUD/controller/controller.php?action=weekly&year=2025&week=11&league=NFL -

dynamic kickoffs - will they last? (The Athletic)

hate the name and the concept. ridiculous. it was/is a violent game. its why we watch it. announcing the onside kick...if you're going to keep this rule, get rid of onside kick completely. am 62, the game is so drastically changed, its borderline unwatchable. it will be flag football in 3 years. just sad -
Crazy that the Russians needed others in the mix for a profile of their own asset. Right?

Game week thread - Buccaneers at Bills

Overly simplistic fix to make the offense more readily versatile: start using the pistol formation. -
I could be wrong, but I think Beane goes before McDermott if things continue as current. I also think there have been breadcrumbs dropped that there is a separation between them. McDermott corrected the media and saying I "never said we want to be a running team" with " we want to be 2 dimensional", was a message sent before the trade deadline. Beane failed, and there could be reasons, by he failed never the less on multiple occasions to fix the WR problem with plenty of opportunity to do so. If things continue the ROS the way they have gone he could/should be a casualty.

So, the OC that some people think will be a HC next year should be fired for incompetence this year. Clear as mud, I tell you. In an ideal world an offensive minded HC will not get poached so we’d be safe from the annual question about our offense going forward. A good OC will get taken, sooner than later. A good DC is far less likely to get elevated to a HC job, so you have more stability. As is, our offense is lacking. If you fix it and things are humming, you need to look for a new OC in an offensive league. That’s an issue, even for me.

Well said. This group does not seem to care and just doesn’t show up to play some weeks. I blame McD for putting up with this crap and no vocal leadership on the team. Josh needs to quit being a yes man and sulking in isolation on the sidelines. Somebody has to rally the troops. The effort is clearly not there on game day and it’s unacceptable.

better fix that defense, allowing 148 yards a game on the ground is not a winning formula -

Yeah, I don’t know why anyone is even bringing up the lower bowl when discussing coverage. The 60% number includes the 3rd level, some of the 2nd, and all seats that are underneath cantilevers. The biggest comfort factor for the “uncovered” fans will be the mitigation of wind. -

I’ll go ahead and say it, the current kickoffs are an ugly thing to watch. It’s even more pronounced in the stadium when the ugly baby isn’t masked by the television coverage not showing much of the kicker back there by himself looking like the Maytag Repairman. It’s not directly about safety, it’s all about not having to fork over more money in lawsuits. I prefer the college and high school kickoffs, and I’m starting to lean more toward their games overall. -
Looks like TJ Sanders practiced fully yesterday. Would be nice to get him back in the rotation. Also, Palmer was a full participant. Kincaid is unlikely to play this week.

Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?
GunnerBill replied to jaybeezee's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get that, but it is why fans tend to over index the impact that has. I think this regime has been for a couple of years in year to year territory. I think they overachieved slightly last year, this year it looks like they will underachieve, and that could very well mean time for a change. But I still overall don't think it is really coaching that is holding us back. I do think the team building approach has, and while that is largely on Beane I do believe he and McDermott are broadly aligned on the philosophy (though it doesn't excuse Beane blowing some of the picks). There is some merit in a fresh voice and fresh outlook and I am not a "don't fire people in case it gets worse" person. -

hmm.. that just might get some traction.. the 7 on 7 or 8 on 8 thing... NFL brains are like that -
I don't see why QBs were given all week to prepare balls for Sunday while kickers were only given an hour before the game. The standard should be the same for any ball regardless of it being kicked or thrown. So, if we are wanting kickers to have to use brand new balls, QBs should as well. I personally don't see any issue with kickers getting to prepare the balls how they want OR that they are making longer kicks because of it. Kickers back in the 90s and before could prepare the balls how they wanted as well. They introduced the 90 minute rule in 1999. If anything, they are just getting back to the way things used to be for the majority of NFL history.
