That’s the one I thought you meant. My memory simply failed me on year/team. He was targeted nearly 100 times that year (almost double what we targeted him) and he still had less TD’s and less yards per reception and a lower success % and a lower yards per target. Last season was his best. By far. Yeah. Anyone who looks at receptions to determine year is being statistically lazy.

At first I was going to make a joke about getting Davis back here, but now I may feel differently. Have not read the thread yet, but have thought it through a little. He is kind of maybe on his last chance (though maybe a bit premature-?) and his confidence is likely shattered. If you were Davis and wanted to resurrect your career, now in shambles, which quarterback would you be thinking about right now? If he is ultra cheap, with almost no guaranteed money, but big incentives, I think it is in the Bills' interest to bring him in, see what he has left. How motivated would he be next year, with Josh Allen, the man who made him a multi millionaire, throwing the ball to him again? He was one of the most respected men on this team, from all accounts, so some players likely are already in their leaders' ears.

I think he's referring to the 2022 season with Vegas. Where he had 57 for 690 and 4 TDs on 94 targets. (Last season was 31 for 378 on 50 targets)

No, I’m looking at his 2022 season in Las Vegas where he doubled up his catches and yards compared to 2024. Mack got a $2M AAV contract back then. He got a $4M AAV contract this season on a team that paid Diggs with a torn ACL $21M. and we all know what WR contracts have done over the last few years. Doesn’t Gabe have a fully guaranteed salary with off-sets? If that’s the case, why would any team pay him more than the league minimum since Jax is taking the hit? Also, Gabe has balsa wood ankles, the dude cannot stay healthy. Great guy, but if after 4 years you can’t get on the same page with Josh there is zero reason to bring him in. I don’t think people are factoring in the opportunity cost for every target Gabe dropped, ran the wrong route, or allowed to be intercepted. The reason our offense was so good last year is because it was exceptionally efficient and Gabe is the opposite of that.

I’m sure you’re looking at 2021 with Miami when they forced him the ball 100 times and he got blowout mock-up duty, but last season was absolutely his best season. To that point, he received his largest contract ever after playing with Allen. After his 2021 season, he got a $2M contract. He just signed an $8M contract after playing with Allen.
