Has Josh Allen put himself back in the race for MVP this year??
mjt328 replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
New England's schedule reads like a the Top 10 mock draft coming up this April. Regardless of their record, almost nobody outside of Boston MA is 100% sold on the Patriots yet. When you go from worst->first, there is going to be skepticism that it's a legitimate turn-around. When you play mostly bottom-feeder teams, there is going to be skepticism that it's real. When your second-year QB has a sudden breakout season, there is going to be skepticism if he's a one-year wonder. Fair or not, all that is going to hurt Drake Maye's chances with most MVP voters. With four games left, there is definitely time for that to change. The Patriots basically have two wins against somewhat quality teams this year. A 3-point victory over the Bills, after a penalty/turnover fest. And the Bucs, who fell apart after losing Mike Evans. How they perform against the Bills this Sunday is going to feed the narrative for the team and Maye. If they walk away with another win, a lot of people are going to start believing they are really a contender. If they lose, they are going to be seen as frauds going into the playoffs. Stafford has played great this year, and is the current frontrunner. I do think many voters want to see him get it, because it's the one thing in his career that he's never won. It's like the cherry on top to seal a Hall of Fame career. But the Rams also have the Seahawks nipping at their heels. It may be tough to give that award to a second-place QB with a great playcalling coach, two stud WRs, etc. -
Colts to bring in ….. Philip Rivers for workout

Whyizzit?...every time I read anything about Philip Rivers, I start humming 'Secret Agent Man'. 🤔 -
Most Pats "fans" even the older ones don't know who Steve Grogan is or Andre Tippett is. Boston has always been a Sox town. Even the B's and Celtics got more love than the Pats. It wasn't until the dynasty with Bill and Tom that they started paying attention to the Pats.

Bengals vs Dolphins could be a fun game to watch I prefer that to ne vs Balt.

There’s something different about McD this season…
SoCal Deek replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s most definitely a good football coach. But he’s not winning a championship with the Buffalo Bills. You have to better than ‘good’ to win the Super Bowl. -
My guess is it was a multitude of things. Bills players obviously in that scenario we’re celebrating a huge play that just occurred and it was likely that the whole team was celebrating in some fashion. The play was also a sudden change of possession, FG units are made up of all 3 sides of the ball. It was unlikely all 11 guys were corralled in time after the celebrating and were all over the sideline to be found. The FG at the time was crucial in the game. The Bills were up 3 points before the XP. Don’t want to take the chance of missing because we rushed the FG team in bad weather vs taking your time and making it a touchdown game

I’m with @GunnerBill here. McDermott has always been this guy. It’s why I really liked the hire when they first brought him in. He’s tough nosed, gritty, and won’t shy away from the dirty work in order to improve a team. I think you are hearing it more from him this year than in years past because we are so young. When you don’t have the veteran leadership that we’ve had you have to be that voice. Obviously player led teams are ultimately what you want, but if you know you don’t have that the onus is on you as the head coach to make sure that message is being spread. As a side note, because I feel like it gets glossed over quite a bit around here, McDermott is a true coach. He is teaching fundamentals daily. You’d think that be obvious coaching the highest level of football, but you’d be shocked at how many coaches in the nfl gloss over fundamentals of football for scheme, and just expect every player that comes into their program to be able to do things at a refined level already. Flaws obviously get brought up way more than strengths, but McDermott offers a lot of strengths to this football team. -
What’s are the planks of the right wing’s platform?

Dont worry, wheeljack. Our day will come. -
I think we can all agree that if he didn't become a fan until his teens then he certainly doesn't live anywhere even close to Boston.

OK that's true, I'm making assumption Pats lose to Bills and Ravens. We'd then be tied and both could end the season with 13 wins. But then Pats would win division, so they'd need to still lose one of last two games to end with a 12-5 record. We could even lose Eagles game and end up 12-5 and be tied with them and win the division. If the Bills do end up 13-4, it is rare that record doesn't win division.

Scenarios for winning the division; scenarios for winning the #1 seed

I believe we must have a better record than Pats. Based on tie- breakers. That’s not going to happen. -
The Farming Cliff. A viewpoint from a farmer.

The agricultural markets are comprised of a very complex set of arrangements. Farmers, buyers, sellers, commodity traders and exchanges, seed & fertilizer suppliers and pricing, banks & capital markets, seasonal labor, domestic and international players, farm equipment suppliers, and maybe among the most important weather in the form of water availability through rainfall and irrigation. And other factors I haven't mentioned. Federal subsidies are important but money is but one factor. -

He’s fine. I think we (Josh Allen) win big games in spite of him mostly. Eye test. The defense is the worst it’s ever been. There are no consistently great players. Too many injuries -
Why are we so late to adjust defensively?
BillsFan130 replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall
Shaq actually didn't rush the passer though. He was responsible for the back. If brown stayed in, he would have rushed. But Chase Brown went out for a route and Shaq followed him. So it was actually a 4 man rush to the quarterback if you watch that clip again -
lol. As someone who treats odds very seriously when placing bets, I’ll pass

The Jets aren't moving on from Glenn after one year. At one point I thought for sure McDaniel would be fired but the fins have turned their season around and at least got back into the playoff mix. I am not so sure McDaniel gets fired anymore.

Is worth saying by cap dollars THIS year the Bills are heavily slanted towards offense. Even without Josh it is more on offense than defense. Worryingly we are spending the 18th most in the NFL on receivers this year to get what I suspect is the 32nd best production.

Anyway we can call his mother to turn off the parental filter to help this kid grow up? Can we trace the IP address, too? Maybe it's a loony bin or special needs school...

The Bills did play several 3rd downs at the sticks, but they also mentioned several times how Burrow does not like to throw short of the sticks - the Bills played tendencies and Burrow did throw short because of it and the Bills did a poor job of tackling at the catch point. -
Rank top 5 bills we need healthy for playoffs

Allen Cook Bosa Benford Kincaid I would say Oliver, but I’m not sure if he’ll be in game shape. We can only hope -
I'm sure you vividly remember the moment you became a Pats fan. Bledsoe was playing quarterback and took a vicious sideline hit. Then some new kid came in to play quarterback.

I was watching the ball, but I'll take your word for it on coverage. You'd think the 40 yard touchdown and third and 15 would have put them in zone. Completely agree.
