Ethan in Cleveland Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Good thing I'm a cardiologist and not an orthopedist. Sure didn’t look like ACL mechanism of injury. 1 Quote

He will wear a John Elway giant knee brace. Probably won’t hard scramble until mid season. 9 months is about the fastest you can do it. I know AP did sooner he was a freak athlete. Mahomes is a great Quarterback, he isn't the same athletic freak AP was. That puts you right around opening day if everything goes perfectly. I think Wentz missed two or three weeks of the following season when tearing his a week sooner. I suspect he misses at least some time and probably isn't himself for a period thereafter. Not because I want that to be the case, but because I think it will be. 1 1 Quote
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago This is happening at a time when KC really needed to stock their cupboard anyway. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Mahomes sit all of next season. 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Well at least he has a reason to skip the "Travis and Tay-Tay Christmas Party" this year. Quote

October probably sees the field and can play from the pocket but may be missing some magic. back to normalish back half of the season wont be shocked if Reid uses this as an excuse to put some beef on the line and get a solid back to take pressure off the passing game but we will see Quote
wjag Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Man that is a tough break for Pat. Next year there is likely to be no Kelce either. 1 Quote

A lot of the things he does that set up those great plays of his start with his legs. This changes a lot for him as a player. 2 Quote

He will play just to have some faith in the healing process and annual schedule 1 Quote

Blank Stare Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Horrible news. Hate that for him. While I’m sick of the Chiefs, I always respected their game and what they built. Hoping for a smooth recovery. Quote

Kelce is retiring. Jawaan Taylor's awful contract and bad play will be cut. Tranquil will be gone. I doubt Hollywood is back. JuJu will be gone. They have decisions to make over Omenhiu, Cook and Chenal. If they don't think they are getting a 100% Mahomes I wonder if they play FA quite conservartively and try and store up a war chest to spend for 2027. 1 Quote

Yeah I get people thinking they could find a way to get him back out there with how things have progressed and how necessary he is for the team. But KC should do the smart thing and let it take however long it takes for him to come back healthy 100% and if that ruins your chances in 2026 then well at least that will give you more good draft picks going into 2027 when he'll be ready to go.
