Reminds me of the inexcusable abuse Tua T. suffered at the hands of the Dolphins.  Nice going Bengals.

This is part of the problem. The continuing to play a dangerous sport with a concussion is part of the problem. But when you start going down the road of ignoring it you can't really go back and say "maybe he shouldnt play, he has a concussion and we know it".

Lotta blame being thrown Bengals way but as a player take yourself out for your own future. If the argument is his concussion occludes this line of thinking, ok, I don’t know if that happens.  But he’s pointing to his own head and knows what’s happening but too dumb to say live to fight another day? He has to shoulder some blame here.

Im more concerned about larger ones

Why? If someone had a "larger concussion" it would likely be obvious on the field and on the sideline. In this instance, if in fact Higgins actually had a concussion but was still able to pass his sideline evaluation, it would suggest it was probably a minor one. If it was minor enough that he wasn't showing obvious symptoms of it immediately afterwards on the sideline, by the time they got him into the locker room he certainly wouldn't be showing symptoms of it.

Players need protection from themselves … they don’t want to let down their teammates…

Because the problem seems to be that players are not being taken out  of the game at all

Is possible intimidation from team personnel a factor in this ? Daboll and a player were fined for it earlier in the season …

This will be adjudicated based on whether he has post game concussion symptoms but he never should've been allowed back after the first head bonk. Those hits hit different coming back from one vs being fully recovered months out. This is how you wind up with an Antonio Brown situation.

Absolutely, first line of defense should be the independent Drs then the training staff and team but when they’re all failing you, maybe think to yourself that they don’t have your best interest in mind. The team and league look like fools for this.

Absolutely … but it won’t happen that way … do you think Josh Allen would take himself out of a game ?

The point I'm making is it's easy to see when someone has a serious concussion. You said you weren't concerned about the minor ones, to which I asked why? Those are likely the ones that are being missed, and the ones people are angry about in this thread if Higgins had one and passed his evaluation. My point is, if you don't evaluate players on the sideline, and instead take them into the locker room, you will miss more because symptoms clear with time, especially for a minor injury. There's a reason, outside of the team's medical staff, no other team personnel are supposed to be involved in the assessment. The Giants fiasco was ridiculous, and Daboll proved in that moment that he's a total asshat with no self control.

I actually said I was more concerned about the larger  ones…point being  when these are also not leading to players being pulled from the game .

For the umpteenth time, Antonio Brown was a sociopathic, violent criminal when he was a teenager. He was thrown out of his own home because his father believed he was a legitimate threat to his mother. His father has been quoted as saying he's always been abusive and has been this way "since he was 12 years old".

His concussions are completely irrelevant to him being a complete sack of shlt as a human being.

Didnt like it, and it had nothing to do with wanting him out of the game to give the Bills an advantage.  I don't like seeing players be treated as indisposable.  Somebody has gotta protect Higgins from himself.  He is a stud and he wanted to help his team win, but you can't let him risk brain damage over a game. Same applies to the Bills and Allen.  No way he should have come back into the game last year against the Ravens when he was clearly out of it on the field.

Seemed odd that the NFL spotter continued to look the other way on Higgins. Remember the spotter in the Bills/Houston game that literally took 4 Bills players out to get checked. Some of which were really bizarre. Yet Higgins is literally pointing to his head and nothing!

I won’t be surprised if he sits for a few weeks now that Cinncy is probably eliminated.

I made the analogy earlier of a boxer being clearly KOd and getting up, nodding his head when asked by the referee if he is OK, and being allowed to continue.

Higgins got the Tua treatment today

Actually Higgins, by his own admission, was evaluated multiple times for a concussion today and passed. Tua, on the other hand, didn't get evaluated until he got into the locker room at half time because the Dolphins staff was calling it a "back injury" and then basically ran interference for him on the independent consultant when they looked at the film.
