He's 34 and was bad enough to be a healthy scratch this year. Who cares. Nothing gained, nothing lost.

Yeah. Something was lost. An inactive cornerback who was a good team player and was able to play well on special teams when called upon.

I agree with most of what you said. However, I don't know how much of "shtick" it really is.

The only way to stop much of the negativity is to win it all. We are starving to see that Lombardi hoisted in Buffalo. Many have waited decades including myself. Perhaps that's unrealistic or terrible way to view things. But is it? See below.

After season or two of Josh Allen, I think we knew how special he was.  A super bowl appearance and a win was evident or at the very least achievable. The anticipation of the next season was as high as ever. Years later, the Bills haven't even sniffed a super bowl appearance. Its best chance was inexcusably whisked away in 13 seconds. That's the moment McD lost me. That's a whole different story.

Currently, the Bills are almost assured of losing the AFC East and other teams in the AFC have seemingly closed the gap. Does this really look like a super bowl team? Be honest. For me, this is the least optimistic I've been in several years. Of course, they can still get there and I'm not giving up hope. I will be the first to cheer them on. However, I won't stand idle as a fan and not voice my criticism. It not a "shtick" for me.

Go Bills!!!

Newcam, yes we want to win the trophy, and I’m as optimistic as ever, especially since Ravens and KC have slipped.  JA17 and JC4 can carry us, and our OL has never been better.  Our D has been questionable during Josh era, so nothing new.  There’s not a team that we can’t beat, but we haven’t played a complete game yet so maybe the stars will align.

So Billsey, lol

You mean claiming a player and deny him the chance to play for a future opponent?

Nobody is going to claim him. He's probably going back to the ps today or tomorrow

Maybe the Eagles claim him

And he knows the deal and he's been released and put back on PS or roster before.

But so are the people who are acting like this is more than it is.

Chances are it's as simple as he was already unhappy as a CB3 and here he'd be a CB4. And given Benford's been hurt in the playoffs multiple years and a couple years ago at LB we had to grab a retired vet off his vacation and that more than likely cost us what could have been a longer run in 2023, it was a good gamble.

Worst case scenario: someone grabs Ingram (but chances are he's more valuable to us). Best case scenario: Slay decides to stay or we get a free draft pick from Philly.

Who says Beane didn't? Could it possibly be that the design here was to block another team (obviously the Eagles, but perhaps another playoff-bound AFC team) from claiming him (or even signing him as a FA if he cleared waivers)?

It's possible.

But being pushed back to end of the waiver line just to block Philly or KC from getting a backup CB?

That would surprise me.

We are talking about a GM who has no problem directly trading with our arch nemesis.

Wait, people still think that we wanted an inactive Steeler?

Actually he started every game this year (except one he missed in concussion protocol).

The game against the Bills was the first and only one he was inactive for.

To be fair I’m almost entirely certain Buffalo was where he wanted to go and the saints tried to game his contract to get him here I’m pretty sure lol. I don’t think cooks would’ve done this if he ended up getting picked up by someone else on waivers but we don’t really know 😂.
