I was surprised when Bernard turned into a serviceable linebacker, but he's a liability when he's not playing his "A" game. If Bernard isn't 100% then there's no use playing, and lately, even at 100%, the Defense hasn't played well with him on the field. The defense is clearly better with Thompson on the field. Not only the physicality, but Thompson has much better instincts, tends to be in the right place, and can play downhill to fill holes on the line. IMO, assuming Bernard is 100%, I can see him as a situational Dime linebacker going forward. Especially in run defense. They have been much better with Bernard off the field. He was excellent last year. Dunno what the problem is this year. Maybe just hampered by injury. I dunno, but his play does not meet his expectations this year. The defense was almost instantly better when he went out against HOU and that continued against PITTS. 1 Quote

The fact that you don't know who Kayshon Boutte or Pop Douglas are basically tells me that you don't actually follow NFL football. Boutte has become one of the best deep threats in the league. His ascent started prior to McDaniels arrival. Douglas is an electric slot/gadget guy. Another guy who was impactful prior to McDaniels. How could you not remember him when he used to be the only guy with juice in that WR corps in years past? Very impactful, dynamic, inexpensive, starting caliber players with complementary skills who are trending toward getting paid handsomely when their FA comes. What really gives your angle away is that you know who their 5th or 6th receiving option is(Kyle Williams).......likely because he was in the draft last year and you probably start paying attention to draft eligible players after the season is over. There is no comparing their WR corps to that of the Bills. Even if the Bills had the health that they have had in NE. If Allen had that group and a healthy Hunter Henry instead of an absent Dalton Kincaid then Allen is likely in the process of repeating his MVP performance.......and then some. 2) As for the old argument that Tom Brady had no pass game options.........he had a HoF TE in Gronk and a very impactful, dynamic player in Julian Edelman(much better than anyone the Bills currently have at WR) for a lot of those seasons in question. When it started getting to the level of how bad the Bills receiving talent is THIS season....specifically 2019....that's when Brady's production fell off dramatically and the next season he went to Tampa Bay and his career was revived thanks to a bunch of excellent receiving options. People really underestimate how good Edelman was. Dude was a tough physical receiver that consistently found space to get open, had good hands, and was a great YAC guy. Maybe he isn't a HoF player but he is highly underestimated. In his prime, he would be a clear #1 on this team and no one would be even close. 1 Quote

I know that in addition to missed games he has also played through injury last year but still. 7 games in an era where 1 or 2 games makes a major difference... 7 games over 2.5 years means he misses 2-3 games a year... two games are first in the division vs wildcard. i guess getting the girl home after the date is good enough for you... Ill take his great production even just for half the games to be honest. again, missing 2 games a year when he is to be a 1st round talent and positive to this team is the difference from 1st round bye to wildcard on the road the entire playofffs. At this point, they should shut down Palmer for a couple weeks and let the ankle heal. I'm fine with load management and Bosa missing Cincinnati. Prefer he gets healthier and play at New England over Cinci. If they can get a couple more wins without Joey then just get him ready for playoffs. Other guys can step up. Quote

Not a good time for it. About to face an elite offense. Coverage will have trouble as it is. We have pretty much zero pass rush when he doesn't play. Quote

The texans have the tie breaker. A couple of more wins is not likely enough 10 wins might take the AFC South. It will take the AFC North. But it is not clear 10 gets a wild card spot. Chargers, Colts, Texans all have a path to 10 wins that are not mutually exclusive, with it possible one or more of them gets to 11. Chief could win out for 11 (I don't thinkt they will, I think they are done). The Bills can't really need to win 3 out of five to be comfortably in a a wild card. Quote

Maybe pulling his hamstring is a blessing disguise so we’re forced to rest him and his wrist. The playoffs are not guaranteed, this is the time of year bosa was signed to make an impact and now of course he is hurt. he may never even play in a playoff game here if they lose the next two games. Was reported he stood up at team meeting last week and challenged the defense.
