Einstein Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Former NFL wide receiver reiterating what I said the opening post. “(Bills) wide receivers got OWNED” When I said Sunday they were blanketed; they were BLANKETED. Edited 59 minutes ago by Einstein 1 Quote
Dan Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 9 hours ago, Nihilarian said: I disagree, as we all saw what can happen with proper game plans against the Chiefs and Bucs. As others have pointed out, and even McD stated that the play calling was off... McDermott added, “I believe in our offensive staff,” but it’s clear that the offensive scheme needs to get better. Right now, the whole Bills’ offense revolves around expecting Allen to make plays, even when he’s under relentless pressure. That’s not a winning formula. I’m going to suggest it’s more than just scheme. The offense looks a lot like it did last year, prior to acquiring Amari Cooper. Regardless of his actual production, he provided a consistent and respectable downfield threat that defenses had to account for. Once he arrived the entire offense looked better. They entered this year thinking Palmer could provide that. For a couple reasons, he simply has not. We have no one the defense has to respect on deep routes. Hence, they can crowd the line, clog the rushing lanes and get after Allen. Beane tried to pull another Amari type trade at the deadline, but he looked within the division. That, and thinking Palmer (or Coleman) would be a downfield threat, were huge mistakes that have left our offense in a bind. It’s predictable, inconsistent and easy to scheme against. Exactly as it was early last season. They need to hire a scout that can identify WR talent. Clearly, this front office lacks that ability. Quote

HEY BEANE!!!!! cutting Knox Milano Samuel bass Rapp and D jones saves almost 39 million. Thats enough to cover Justin Jefferson’s contract and resign Knox at 4 million/year. Maybe go buy George Pickens this offseason!?!? 1 Quote

The same was with Cole. We are missing those guys so badly on this offense. Shakir has also been a BIG disappointment. We paid him money for being a WR and not a catch at scrimmage and try making 5-7 yards (and get lucky once in a while). There were zero slant passes to him to move the chains. Man, back then we were asking for a steady WR2 to compliment Diggs. Now we're at the point where we're begging for somebody, anybody who can just get open. And we have a GM who was basically telling people in the offseason to stop complaining. By mid-season he's contemplating parting ways with 1st round picks because he knows he was wrong and here we are. 1 Quote
Success Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago There has already been a lot of criticism for Beane on this - but as poorly as the roster is constructed, I think he'd get much more of a pass if it wasn't for the sad, stubborn negligence on the WR position. I think he believed that Coleman might really replace Diggs or something. He took a wild gamble this season w/ that unit, and it is proving to be his biggest & most impactful failure. If he stays, there is no excuse. The WR corps needs a 180 heading into next season, starting with a true star at the #1 spot. Someone proven and great. Quote

I honestly think Beane needs to go, before McDermott. At least Sean coaches up a strong, tight lockeroom, even if his game day coaching struggles. McD predates Beane, so maybe he survives and we get a better GM...? 1 Quote

Its amazing Josh got out of this game without a serious injury 1 Quote

GunnerBill Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Some of us said after the Buccs..... this is about opposition nothing else. The Bills are happy to dial up deep shots. They took them against the Buccs because guys were open. Cos that was a bad secondary, especially with Dean out early. The Texans secondary is darn good. Their corners are excellent. I was one of the few who stood pat on Lassiter when everyone downgraded him for a bad combine. Dude can play. And Stingley is a stud. 1 1 Quote

thenorthremembers Posted 26 minutes ago Posted 26 minutes ago Brady knows his WR are trash. Brady knew the Texans defense was going to get there with 4. His job was to find a weakness despite this. Where were the crossing routes? Where were the running back screens? Quote

They mostly just stay still or move only slightly. I don’t get it. They don’t come back toward the ball, or try to shake their defender. Actually Shakir did a little, but everyone else? Just … statues for the most part. Thanks for sharing, it was bad and Brady just made it worse. I think we win this game if our Defence came out more aggressive in that first half with blitzs to start the game and maybe create a turnover. When your playing against an elite defence like the Texans, you need some help from your to shorten the field for your offence. That TD drive before the half after the kickoff return for TD was a back breaker I think Babich and McDermott need to sit down and find ways to create turnovers. Last season that is something our defence did and were not seeing this season Quote

Like him or not , Allen could always count on Diggs to shake his defender. It's so sad to watch Allen trying to carry his and take a beating on the field. At this point i would be looking to bring in some street guys or someone who can take Hardman's spot. Texans were playing a lot of one safety back because they had no fear of getting beat. I could see something like this happening in our next game against Pittsburg. Quote
