At least IR him and move Davis to the 53.  Maybe a month off would heal him up for the final stretch. But I suspect he'd hurt something in practice.

I cannot fathom how Shakir’s skill set doesn’t translate to being excellent at slant routes. To me he’s the perfect type of player to make 1 quick move and have a step on a guy. I don’t know how we can’t just torch teams on 7 yard slants with Shakir. And he has great hands and is great run after the catch. The guy should be running the Beasley stuff and just shredding teams on the Stevie Johnson slant catch and run

Acknowledging the other teams #1 defense is ball washing? Thank God you aren’t the coach. This is the exact mentality that led to losses against world beaters Atlanta and Miami. Buffalo went in there thinking ***** was sweet and got stomped out in their own house. But keep thinking the Texans are a pushover.

I was thinking Gabe splitting with Shavers with Palmer on the other side,  or can we go Gabe Shavers Palmer as a 3 wide with a Hawes or Knox?

 

I'm assuming Shakir and Kincaid will be out.  As a side note, depending on numbers, I'd like to give Coleman a chance to redeem himself as a red zone/end zone target. In any case I think Cook and Johnson should have the most targets in Houston.

Settle was a guy who had great pedigree coming out of Washington. I expected such big things from him. Too bad he didn’t succeed in Buffalo and we have to watch him succeed elsewhere.

So far it seems Sgavers is better against man coverage. There are instances where against zone, he does not know when to sit down and run into coverage. Atlanta game there were a few examples.

Tell that to Brady. He just figured out that Cook is more useful running wheel routes than sitting on the bench. He's a slow study, Joe. But give him credit: he has a firm grasp of the wide-receiver screen and the stop route. 😕

True.  Definitely more innate in Shavers than Keon, though.  Shavers is an intelligent player.  IMO it just going for to take playing time for Shavers to learn weak spots in zones.  He’ll figure out I’m guessing

But they're playing against the Bills defense, right? The Bills....defense. 

 

Which is a lot better compared to the rest of the NFL than most people think.  12th in YPG and 15th in PPG.  People act like they are 32nd and 32nd by a mile, and it simply isn't true.  Run D is bad, pass D is really good for the most part.

I was being a bit facetious, but when a team is so soft against the run, they create an impression of being weak overall. I do wonder why teams choose to throw when they're gouging the Bills with the run game.

Bills give up big runs but they are also among the NFL leaders in TFLs too, so they have a very high negative run rate against them.

 

Bills currently are tied for 5th in the NFL with 5.6 per game.  Only teams better are the Browns(7.7), Seahawks(6.9), Vikings(5.9) and Raiders(5.7). Bills tied with Steelers.
