This has devolved into a conversation of is Beane a good drafted or not.

Devolved into? That was my only point in the whole conversation and the only point you replied to. That's the whole discussion I'm having. I'm not arguing whether or not he needs to do a better job with how he allocates funds or other moves he makes or doesn't make.

I wish I knew why we seem to miss on so many high round picks.  Bad scouting?  Are we just guessing wrong?

It's frustrating.  Especially when the cap is becoming a real issue, we have to get more hits than misses.

Beane uses premium picks for need. Always. Which means most of the time he's picking the players too high, and passes on higher value players at different positions. He does the exact opposite of the successful Baltimore model in the early rounds.

Example: Everyone knew we needed a WR last year. He actually did well by trading down twice. But it wasn't enough to pick the top WR. He must be a certain type. And passed on an obviously more talented McConkey. Elam, same thing. He could not pivot to a different position. These are Beane-driven picks.

But something happens on day 3 of the draft. All of a sudden the Bills are picking future starters in the 6th round. I wouldn't be surprised if these picks are driven more by the scouting 'collective' liberated from their board's need-loaded algorithms.

This was my reply to the other poster not you. Strange to quote that.

My mistake - I didn't notice you were replying to two people. That's what I get for replying to things while trying to also pay attention to the game.

Well, shavers has 3 catches on 4 targets for 69 yards and a TD. Critical blocks on a few runs, including Johnson's TD catch and run.

Maybe... Just maybe the players have a big part of this offense and it's success. Keon was not giving effort & it's showing + Josh's poorer performance right now.

If Ladd is an outside WR why do the Chargers line him up in the slot 60% of the time the last two seasons? Toss in  keep Quinton "the bust" Johnston and sign Keenan Allen this off-season?  If Ladd is so great on the outside the Chargers are sure wasting his talent.

McDuffie been an all pro slot CB, guess what so has Taron Johnson but I know all WRs and CBs can not play at the same level anywhere on the field. But I know you thought it was smart letting Mario Williams drop into coverage in Rex's defense? Cuz he's an all pro pass rusher.

I prefer Ladd in the slot too. Just want to say Johnston being a bust is a crazy take. Hes not a high volume guy or all pro by any means, but "bust" sounds like someone who hasnt seen anything about him since his rookie year.

He had 700yds & 8 tds last year. Half way in this season hes on pace for 1k yards and gas 6td already

Coleman isn't a high volume guy either but was on pace for 600 yards and about 5 TDs his second second season but he sucks.

thinking about this question of trading Keon, I think, given that the return might be something like a 4th or 5th, the bigger question is this:

Will Beane take another high-draft shot at a WR?

Most here agree that we need a real boundary stud, and the capital Keon fetches isn't likely to get that stud. Will Bean take a shot in the first two rounds at a WR? I think he should.

Shavers

4 catches on 5 targets 90 yards and TD.

He should have been incorporated into the offense months ago.

They act like he's still a practice squad lucky charm.

If you're going to roster him, at least give him some galdanged opportunities.

So you prefer he just stand on sidelines looking at his feet with a hood over his head with a tear in his eye?

Really bud? You went to quite the extreme on that one.  Assuming you work (maybe you don't), if you're boss reprimanded you for f*&^ing up and hurting your company, you just go yuck it up laughing and joking with your boys at the water cooler?  Even though your the one who is wrong and hurt the company/possible profits? I'm just saying, maybe he should be locked in and serious instead of playing grab ass and dancing.  Nice win today, GO BILLS!!!

Business inquiries? Who’s he going into business with, Kair Elam?

I hope the Bills front office and coaching see that and sit him the rest of the year.  Hell send him home and just pay him, Don't want that attitude in the locker room

If the Cowboys head coach, whoever that be... If Andy Reid.... If Brian Dabol... Were getting piss-ass drunk with their brother until 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning game day then it would be national... But in Buffalo... No one said a peep.

I remember Rex & Rob at Sabres games each with several cups of beer in their hands

Addition by subtraction!

If the pre game post on X was correct,  Keon was not benched for performance reasons but for “other” reasons.  Well sorry, but unless there are WR injuries he should be kept inactive due to performance or lackthereof.  We all speculated that his benching would benefit the team simply from addition by subtraction.  and that played out exactly.
