No he wasn’t!  He’s more interested in trashing WGR hosts and refusing to address the team’s weaknesses!  That’s what I read hear all the time.

Word is he offered a 1st and 3rd for Waddle. Some rumors out there that 1st round pick was a 2027 pick and Miami wanted a 2026 pick.

No surprise in Waddle but the Williams news is interesting. I wonder how he foresaw any trade looking in acquiring ANOTHER DT, albeit one that is a premier player, just a year after drafting two of them. Who would they have moved?

If I'm Waddle I'm ticked. Man, had a chance to punch my ticket to go play with a winning club and got held here instead. Could have played with Josh Allen, but no, stuck with Tua.

Honestly, I like Waddle but a first and third for a guy that is injured a lot would have been a bit much IMO.

Not faulting Beane for this deadline. They were active. It takes 2 to tango.

Not faulting him on Williams/DL. The WR issue is a mess of his own making, and having it still be an issue and trying to address it at the last minute IS his fault.

I doubt they would have traded with us, but if that was the only hold up you give them a 2026 1st rounder.

100%

I do hope this tweet is true because it shows Beane isn’t a complete hard head with his WR take after the draft and is open to change and maybe he’s listening to someone in the organization that evaluated the WR market and said yes Waddle would be the best available weapon for our team (because it’s true he was with his all around game the best fit for us) and maybe finally we will see real effort in getting Josh WR help in the draft…one can only hope.

Exactly! Especially with how loaded the 2027 class is looking at WR and what an immediate impact waddle would’ve been. Beane could’ve worked his magic and said fine a first in 2026 and that’s it. I mean they’re taking on his contract for the next 3 years too. He’s only cheap this year.

The puzzling thing for me is that if Beane was willing to pay a third and future first, that's an acknowledgement that we are lacking at the position.

But his back up plan was ...Waddle or nothing? Just seems weird he would be willing to invest that much and not have a pivot plan.

I’m pretty confident that Rashid Shaheed and Adonai Mitchell were available at the trade deadline, and neither was in the AFCE…

100% fair. I know he was in on others too. I blame him for the WR room but not this trade deadline. He backed himself into a corner and couldn’t get out.

Im pretty sure you just named two overrated players.  The Bills were looking for a #1 not a #3.
