To my fellow Bills fans, I think about this all the time. I am curious everyone else’s thoughts on this.

If we hadn’t traded our 22nd pick for Diggs Justin Jefferson falls in our lap that following year. I know this is in hindsight and Beane was trying to get us a solid weapon in which he did. Diggs was great for a few years but I can’t help but wonder how different this team would’ve been for a decade plus of Allen and Jefferson.

B365, everyone is jumping on you.

I hear you, man.  Believe me, I do think about it, too.  So do they, even if they won't admit it.

Like that comedian, whose name escapes me, said a long time ago, "I wonder what chairs would look like if our legs bent the other way."

I can go back to every draft since 1960 and do what if stories.  Moving on.

Exactly. If you allow for hindsight on the Diggs trade, then you have to allow the 31 other teams the benefit of that same hindsight. In that case, Jefferson would probably be the first overall pick, given what we now know about Burrow's injury history. At worst, the second pick. Tee Higgins probably goes top five too.

One thing is for sure, there is not a day that goes by that Minnesota doesn't thank their lucky stars that they made that deal.   Wasnt the trade a 1, 4, 5, and 6th for Diggs and a 7th.

Only thing I’ve learned in this thread is that the Bills could have drafted Mahomes, Jefferson, Tom Brady and TOMS’s dog x 2

The one I rue to this day, is Donohoe trading the following year's number 1 pick for JP Losman that could of been Aaron Rodgers sitting in our laps.  Rodgers still in the league and playing for a team leading it's division.  A lot times the right answer is to not force things.

I heard Beane say on WGR yesterday that the Bills have a championship roster. There.........stamp-of-approval.......'nuff said.

Was that tape from a few years back? 🤔

As good as Jefferson is. He also benefitted from learning from Adam Thielen his rookie year. What made Thielen a perfect mentor for Jefferson out the gate was that the two knocks on Jefferson as a prospect were he was a good but not elite athlete and he had some issues with a particular type of route running that Adam Theilen was one of the best in. I'm not sure if Jefferson is here in 2020 with Cole and Brown that he gets to the level he did as quickly as he did. I'm sure Jefferson does get there but he's not as impactful out of the gate without Thielen.

The Bills also needed a WR that could help Josh Learn as well. Diggs was the right player at the right time for this team. Jefferson would have been the better longer term move but the Bills had the luxury of trying to add a prime level vet to a young up and coming roster.

Maybe. Who knows. It was a long interview and what seemed glaring to me, he was sort of playing both sides; he was aggressively trying to make deals, but he's happy with the current roster. I guess both can be true. I just have a hard time hearing someone make that case.

When trading for a proven commodity, you are removing the biggest variable, and that's whether or not a guy can excel at the next level.

In reading what Kirby posted in the trade thread, and Beane's presser from yesterday.  It almost all but confirms that they were really going after BTJ.  The million-dollar question of course, that we likely will never know, is how close they got to a deal.

Was our max maybe a 2nd and player, say Keone or Samuel?

Was Jax wanting a 1st+ ?

Did Jax jack up the price at the last minute?

I still say that he was worth, about the price we paid for Diggs, and I'm willing to bet that Beane was probably willing to at least come close.  I'm wondering if the Sauce trade happened, and Jax thought, wait......maybe we should also push for a 2 1's, and at that point, Beane hung up on them.

They probably would have traded that pick to KC and let them draft Jefferson.

Crying about a dude with 4.17 speed, in an Andy Reid offense, with 250 yards lol absolutely rent free, and a simpleton take

He hadnt done s*** for them. Same with Coleman here.

250yds with Reid in KC. In a year where all their WRs were out and he had ALL the opportunity in the world to eat... with mahomes as his QB btw.

What do you think he has if hes in Buffalo? 127yds? Boy what an epic failure 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
