Success Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I'd like to zag and praise Beane for not trading for someone just to "make a move." As the dust settles, it's clear that no one who we really wanted was going to be traded. We are going to need draft picks - our cap will always be a problem now, as long as Allen is QB. We're in good shape. I love what I saw Sunday against KC, and think that our offense AND defense will continue to develop as we move along this season. If we can stay healthy, this could be our year. 2 Quote

Neither willing to work with Buffalo with in reason. Saints kept Olave. Shaheed was a target but his price tag was steep for a rental. Palmer getting healthy will be big imo. He can open up the down field passing game off play-action. Can Davis run and can Coleman find a rhythm are 2 questions the can help as well. 6-2 with an improving defense and top 3 offense is still a good spot to be. The Palmer thing is real with that contract. Beanes wager Quote

We've got a good bit of $ tied up in players who contracts don't equal their performance IMO. Knox and Bernard just to name a couple home growns. Then add in bad signings like Samuel, and you're handcuffing yourself. I am not going to argue against Knox's current contract . Or Bernard's its the FA spending that concerns me. Going back to Starr , Gore and few more that were just losses. I understood the reasoning , but it was not a difference maker. Miller was and error from the get go. Even before the injury. Have no issue with keeping the Draft picks around. But Knox was overpaid on the 1st reward. Beane is still learning it seems. and we wait for the Lombardi go bills Quote

BuffaloBillsGospel2014 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Man hearing that Beane press conference today almost sounded like Buffalo Sabres GM talking about nobody would come here because we don't have palm trees and taxes. I get that he feels like he had to explain himself but i wished he'd have just said there was nothing out there that made sense and moved on instead of the whole "It takes 2 to tango" garbage (Again I understand it was probably the truth but I hated it). Also now I'm hearing how he was trying to go after multiple top WR at the deadline. After bitching to the fans and the hosts on WGR about wanting a WR when Allen just broke records is comical to say the least, why not just sign a real WR in FA? DK was out there, George freaking Pickens, I just don't understand the refusal to upgrade it and even if things like the Cooper deal don't work out just keep trying. This guy cares more about the future than the present and as long as he isn't squandering all the picks on bums we should be fine. 1 1 Quote

Which means one of two things to me - either that "2nd" they reported was inaccurate or they simply weren't interested in moving him, when push came to shove. I find it quite frankly incredibly unlikely that if he was actively being shopped for a 2nd that there wasn't a single team amongst 31 teams that was interested. 1 Quote

Virgil Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Dolphins wanted a first and at least a second for Waddle. No thank you Quote

SCBills Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I think KC is my favorite non-move. We struggle to run the ball and need help there. We want Breece Hall. We’ll give you a late 4th. (We want a late 3rd.) Whoa, ok, that’s a bridge too far. Quote

It would’ve been better for Beane to have just said he liked his roster and was fine to stand pat. Just grow a pair dude. To say that he tried hard but couldn’t close - especially after ranting on the radio in the offseason about how his offensive weapons were fine - it’s just so unimpressive and weak. You suck at evaluating your own roster in the offseason AND you suck at making trades? He is killing me. 2 Quote

I am super worried about trying to give Cook 20-25 runs a game through January as a strategy. And slamming Shakir into the teeth of the defense over and over. They are working hard for their yards right now and relying on some smaller guys to do it. If their offense starts to break down physically like their defense has, they are in real trouble. Kansas City was chucking up prayers all night Nothing worked on schedule.. like they're not a bad team but no good team is destined to win for eternity Quote

But yes you’re generally in a good spot for January if your line is mauling people and you can run the ball effectively even against stacked boxes. Would just really like it if Ray Davis or Ty would get going. 1 2 Quote

Would just really like it if Ray Davis or Ty would get going. Didn't we see at least tiny glimpses of Davis and Johnson providing some juice? Davis on returns mostly, and Johnson out of the backfield. At least a little uptick. And now with Cook's sore ankle, they're definitely getting more reps in practice this week. So let's see if they can actually help to spread out the workload on gameday against the Phins in the heat. It's a style/vision issue to my eye, whereby Cook is the ideal cut-back slasher who thrives in this zone-heavy, Shanahan-y rushing attack, and whereas the other two might be better suited to hitting pre-determined gaps in a power run scheme. I agree and I wasn't even that upset that he didn't pick up anyone at the deadline (more surprised) but hearing the "I tried" speel just doesn't fly with me (not that it matters because I can't do a thing about it lol).
