Going to the game in Miami this Sunday - Suggestions?

Just know that the Sun, in Miami or anywhere in Florida, in November is ALOT different than the Sun in September, especially post Daylight Savings. The Sun shouldn’t be directly overhead during the game so only some sections will be in direct sunlight early in the game.

If you want to get a little color while tailgating, don’t even bother with the sunscreen, you’ll be fine. Put a little on your nose or ears if you’re really worried.

On way to Miami now. We stay on South Beach — lots to do and see. On Sunday will Uber to Lot 95 and take the free shuttle to the stadium.

Yeah, I was at the heat game a couple years ago, and from the club seats in the shade, it was like watching a blue and red turkey roasting in the oven. The sunburns after the game were intense. I was drinking vodka/cranberry in the corner club all day, or I would have been roasted too.

How is the shuttle service?   We are staying at a hotel across the street from Chase Stadium for the Inter Miami game on Saturday.   I was going to try and park at the Casino and walk from there, but am open to suggestions

We did the ticket and tailgate package a couple years ago and had a great time, although the Bills lost. I think the tailgate is in the Yellow lot for buses. It was the hottest I think I’ve ever been in my many decades on Earth (it was September, so…)

 

Stay in Lauderdale— Bills fans everywhere especially the Elbo Room. 
 

The stadium location sucks and it will take you forever and a day to get an Uber outside the stadium after the game. Walk a mile and you’ll have better luck.

If your a real man no sun screen, drink 14 beers with no food between 9-12pm, and you'll be obnoxious enough to almost start a fight but let your friend get roped into it instead.

I used to play tennis midday in Florida all year round. Courts are always available at that time…for a reason.  It’s one thing to be moving about, even if you are exerting yourself. You’re sweating buckets, getting shade at changeovers and you can put on dry clothes. It is a special kind of misery to just sit still in the stands at an NFL game and cook in the sun with stagnant air all around you.  By November I’d consider a day game in Florida, but I’d be hoping for a cloudy day. I hope it’s not a factor this weekend.

What sucks is, while buying our tickets, it showed us as being in the shade and I didn't question it.  Plus, the canopy seems to cover everything except the field.  

 

Needless to say, I was pissed when I read that the visitor side lower bowl is still likely to be in the sun.  I'm hoping it being November takes some edge off the sun, or row 25 is far enough back to get some shade.

 

As of now, I'm thinking I'll park at the Casino and walk the mile to the stadium.

My company has a main division in Houston and is hosting customers for the Bills-Texans game. Guess who is not finding a reason to coincidentally be in Houston that week ? 🙁

I've attended two games at Hard Rock, and I haven't decided whether it's worse to drive or using ride-share. Like Orchard Park, there's gridlock for a few blocks around the stadium. I'd consider scouting for parking far away or walking a bit before ordering an Uber.  Maybe a mile or so.  Even after a 35-0 Bills win, there were still a ton of people and traffic at the end of the game. 

 

The stadium is nice, although not nearly as great as SoFi, but it's somewhat easy to get around, there are a lot of food and drink options, and the bathroom lines are not too long.  One caution: seats in the sun can get very warm, even in November. Use a hat and sunscreen, and avoid dehydration.  Both games folks needed medical attention. 

 

Addendum - I see a lot of folks warn about the sun. It's no joke and can be miserable. Go Bills.

This will be the first time taking it but it seems straightforward. Google GEICO HRS shuttle. Uber to and from the lot to catch the shuttle sounds way better than where Uber drops off and picks up if you take it all the way to the stadium. I already booked my Ubers and they were both very reasonable. 
 

I should add that tailgating is not important to us because we are in a suite so we get there at 11 and start the party inside.

Get a Cubano at Versailles in South Beach...best one you'll ever eat!  The pastry shop nearby is amazing as well.

I've had so many friends shame me for not knowing the Bills were playing in Miami this weekend before planning my trip.  I admit, it is strange for me to not know the schedule off the top of my head.  I knew they played this weekend, and just planned to watch it from the family house.  I'm just a little off this season.

 

The Messi game was also a pleasant surprise.
