Dr. K Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I think it's classic how twenty-four hours ago the obvious truth about the Bills (nationally, and among some of us Bills loyalists) was that they were a second-rate team with no shot at the Super Bowl. And now they are back as one of the favorites. I don't think the way the media (and some fans) react to games is rational. After a game like this you get three days of people shouting unequivocal opinions that they will reverse by next Monday in order to shout about something else. It's funny, when it's not exhausting. 2 2 1 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) I've said it over and over again that when the Bills best is required, you almost always get it. And oh, BTW, we have the #1 offense in the NFL regardless of people's opinions on what it "looks like". Edited 12 hours ago by Big Turk 2 1 1 Quote
RyanC883 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Eh, doesn't bother me if people change their mind or go crazy from we are awesome to "we suck again". Just part of the fan fun. 3 Quote
thenorthremembers Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I stood in front of a very drunk fire McDermott guy at the game yesterday. Literally tried to break the record for f words in a 4 quarter football game. The good news is he could coach the team better if they need him to. Point being- a lot of people say a lot of things, most of them are idiots. 4 3 Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I really don't know where it comes from, but it's not a Bills fan exclusive thing. Any team can beat any team, and McD teams have characteristics that have been consistent for a long time. Yet so many constantly count them out in September and October. They may half-ass a random October game vs a near .500 team, but when they need to show up they do. Quote

Generic_Bills_Fan Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Football is a super high variance sport and there are so few games in the season that it’s just really prone to causing short term overreactions positive or negative. if you change one or two plays you can turn a comfortable win for a team into a loss in a lot of the games so in a smallish sample size there’s just really no way to tell how good a team is Quote

It's the way it always is and has been. The media sizes up teams every week. It's just entertainment so what does it matter? If you let what the Stephen A's say impact how you feel that's your own failing. I know the Bills were not the subject of national discussion for a couple decades but they've been a SB contender for 6 seasons now. You've been around too long to be noticing and lamenting it now. zow2 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago It's been said for a while. Even more than ever, it's a week to week league. There's only a few teams as of today showing some recent winning consistency. Seattle, Rams, Patriots and Denver. And they will all lose soon. Quote

ddaryl Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I personally needed to see a solid game from this team against solid competition. The win against the Cheifs has given me hope that we can become what we exepected to be down the stretch, heading into the playoffs Now we need to see if the Bills can play this way consistently. 1 Quote

Mikie2times Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Everybody who was complaining knew we were a playoff team, most people didn't think we were a Super Bowl team. Nothing has changed in that regard right now from my view. The secondary performance is an exciting development for sure, but no downfield threat in the passing game is still going to be a problem. Teams that shut down the run effectively are still going to be a problem. 1 Quote

The entire game. He complained the entire game. Incessant, and to no one in particular. I kept looking at him wondering if I should tell him to calm down. But given his state I knew it would only go one way. Him throwing some sloppy drunken punch with his teenage son looking on. Quote

Teams that shut down the run effectively are still going to be a problem. But the Chiefs are one of the teams that shut down the run. And the Bills ran on them anyway. And when they packed the box, the Bills completed a pass downfield to Moore. It's there. But I agree that some things are needed, and I expect the Bills to get a WR and a rotation pass rusher in the next 24 hours or so. 1 Quote
