Defense looks much more competent with Poyer back there, Hairston getting time & Hoecht being inserted. 

 

Too bad Hoecht is lost already... I just don't understand how this keeps happening. Any hope we get is instantly balanced out by yet another injury. Maybe, if we're extremely lucky, Oliver will come back some point late in the season. But damn this sucks!

 

That aside, Allen got his act together & showed up against KC yet again. Cook validating my offseason obsession with defending him to anyone who would listen 😅

 

And given all the injuries on defense, I'm shocked that one particular person is still healthy. I won't say his name in fear of jinxing him, but I was very wrong about him. He was great today!

That was a great win. We have beat the Ravens and the Chiefs this year already. STFU about the chiefs for a month. They are the 8 seed. 31 needs to be on the field every single snap. Stop putting white out there. Max is already the best guy we have on the outside. No more 7,8 or 27 ever

The crowd noise was killing our defense all day and they couldn’t communicate. Luckily it didn’t affect the pass rushers much.

I will give credit where it is due.

1. Way better from Brady, decent play selection overall, Cook was awesome. But got too conservative on the playcalls on a few drives and at the end. Also can we please throw a true deep ball one of these games?

 

2. Way better from the defense. Great pressure and pretty good against the run. but Hoecht injury is just unfair. He was playing great and really seemed to elevate the rest of the D. I am also glad that McD and Babich figured out that rushing the QB on a Hail Mary was better strategy than giving him all day to throw. We've seen the end of that stupid movie too many times

 

3. I would be very interested in a study of McD's defensive time out usage and the subsequent play? Is it a myth that they backfire or accurate?

Chiefs were 3 for 13 on third down.  They're the Chiefs with Reid/Mahomes so they'll get their plays but our defense was very good.

Did the Chiefs make a 4th and 17 from their own territory.  The Bills didn't pressure Mahomes and they converted?
