This offense is just weird right now. Don’t get me wrong I love the running game and I think the big package is very formidable. However this offense just does not get the wide receivers involved at all with the exception of Shakir.
I guess the concern for me today would be the lack of production from Kincaid as we all know the Panthers are the worst in the league at defending tight ends in the passing game.
It looks very different than the offense last year which is surprising to me. It feels like they got everybody more involved last year.
Perhaps there’s a concerted effort to make Cook the focal point? I have no problem with that for the record. But we all love seeing Josh Allen throw the football it’s a little bit of a waste having him be a game manager.

Some people here thought I was hating on Josh Allen earlier

You 100% were.

No one says “Tom Brady won with Chris Hogan but Josh can’t win with these guys?” (para) as a legitimate criticism.

It was a big glass of haterade.

I know the Bills won big today, but it wouldn't be TBD without the usual whiners like me to come by and complain.

I'm a bit concerned with Allen's game right now. He hasn't looked like his usual self for the majority of the season. Missing open receivers, not being able to escape rushers, and just looking kinda flat out there emotionally compared to what were accustomed to.

I know the receivers don't create much separation, but it's not like they revamped the room this year. It's mostly the same guys he had last year and although he wasn't lighting it up in 2024, he was still fitting the ball into really tight windows. There isn't a lot of that this year.

I know it's not popular to criticise him here, so for the record, I'm one of his biggest fans. But out of all of the problems this team has, Josh Allen's play is the most concerning for me. Not that he's been horrible, but this team has no chance if he's not far and away the best qb in the league.

you must have missed a lot of the game today---he was pretty fired up after each TD.  The dominance of Cook has taken the pressure off Josh having to squeeze a lot of tight passes into the hands of these zero separation bums.  He's fine.

Not able to escape rushers?  He makes the O-line look a lot better than it is because he is still one of the hardest guys to sack in the NFL.  Compare him to Hurts, behind a similarly graded line has been sacked almost twice as much--and he is considered a mobile QB.

This.

Nothing is wrong with Josh. But a lot of what is wrong with the team has made Josh do uncharacteristic things.

In the game day thread, people were bemoaning him leaving the pocket. I don’t know what these folks have been watching the last few weeks, but Allen has been trained to leave the pocket - or get wrecked.

If he doesn’t leave the pocket early and a rusher gets through quickly (which is happening all the time now), play is dead. So he leaves early to try and buy time for his awful WR’s to get open.

But then on the rare occasion where the line holds up, people are upset that he left the pocket. Hindsight is 20/20. Allen doesn’t have the benefit of rewind so he is hedging his bets: stay in the pocket and there is a good chance the play is dead, or leave the pocket and try to make something happen.

Its what happens with any QB when you have a bad WR group and an o-line in a rough stretch.

PS, we don’t have a single receiver who can consistently make sideline catches.

But I thought Beane said we don’t have a WR problem and he drafted Josh Allen so he must always be right…

It's very obvious you're not wrong

It's been 9 yrs of this staff. This is their version of Allen's offense fully realized- ball control, mistake free, boring ass football

Josh Allen has identified as a football player his whole life and this was his goal to be an NFL star

Now his new wife is telling him that he's more than a football player...

You don't think that's way more of a mental hurdle than anything a football player is throwing at him when he's a football player?

No he's definitely going through mental hurdles right now also.. before he married that woman he was a football player

If you have a spouse that support your dreams 100% that's amazing.. if she's telling you you're more than your career that has given you a platform I don't know

None today ..

They did call one up on a 1st/20 after a holding call, but didn't get much out of it.

No separation from WRs and the OL not being as good at pass blocking as they get credit for. Results in quick pressure, nobody open to throw to and as the game goes on Josh gets happy feet because he's not trusting the protection.

It really is this simple. Josh didn't forget how to play qb overnight

Doesn’t look like Josh is going to reach his 6th consecutive 40+ TD season… liked him better when he was scoring more TDs.

 He’s still ok, I guess.

All I can say to you guys is get used to it

If you didn't understand what you were getting w a McDermott/Brady TEAM... now you know

For sure…if someone doesn’t throw on the cape (cook this week, Josh most weeks) than we’re not going to win against decent teams. Who knew coaching actually matters after 8 years of the same script every playoff

I hate to say this but Josh isn't having fun anymore.

Look at what his grandma said

I never thought it possible but McDermott and Brady have completely destroyed Superman.

The passing game is completely non existent. Josh threw for only 163 yards tonight.

I remember when Josh was having fun and would routinely pass for over 400 yards.

McDermott and Brady have become Josh's kryptonite and are sucking the life out of him as we speak !!

You all see it with your own eyes !!

Tell me I'm wrong !!

I feel like we all have very short memories haha. I once watched Josh when he was at max wr power getting so frustrated with the kc defense that he threw the ball

at Chris jones’ head after a play 😂. He has had BRUTAL short stretches pretty much every year (most qbs do) with all kinds of different personnel/OCs. this isn’t anywhere near new.

I don’t think the coaching is sucking the life out of him at all I think he’s just fiercely competitive and absolutely despises losing (which is a good thing). Do you all want to see him smiling at the tail end of games like the pats/falcons? Lol

Must of took a bathroom break didn't see it.... Yet that's something I don't think we need until it's 2nd and 2 In January... Instead of a handoff off the gut I would just go Josh Allen power

There's a massive difference between dating someone in a great stage and then tying the knot

A lot of married men will tell you that

Last year she wasn't telling him he was more than a football player.. but that is something Josh has said that he learned from her recently

Which is something you would never hear from Tom Brady.. Tom Brady left his wife of 15 years because he was a football player

What we are seeing is by design. if they limit the TO's and offensive penalty's and play decent D they will win the game.  The two game losing streak featured a lot of bad offensive penalties, 5 TO's and terrible defense. The goal is to stay at or near the top of the AFC/Division standings through game 10 then go on a run fully unleashing Allen.

Allen and the passing game looks off because I'm not convinced Allen has entirely bought in. No matter what Allen says he seems to be the type of player that treats every game as the Super Bowl.  Allen is a sprinter, not a cross country runner.  He's trying but he's uncomfortable playing with an engine governor engaged. Today, Allen was great within the scheme that Brady & McD want - 3 TD's, NO TO's & a QB rating of 108, a dominating offensive performance courtesy of Cook & the running game (the Bills only punted once through 3 quarters scoring on the other 7 possessions)

Contributing to the odd look in the passing game is the inability of the WR's to make plays downfield or routinely get separation.  This is true on structured and more concerning unstructured plays.  With the exception of Shakir's nifty run after catches there is no credible WR threat on this team.  And Kincaid, our biggest downfield threat, was out against Atlanta and was on a pitch count today (only in on 14 snaps).

Throw in the fact that Samuel has been hurt and missed games and practices limiting his work with Allen, Coleman has underwhelmed, Moore is a gadget player at best and Shavers is a blocker who is at best a practice squad receiver and the Bills passing offense will look off.

But there is reason for optimism.  An Allen/Palmer connection was developing and he's shown that he might be that deep boundary receiver desperately needed.  I expect Kincaid to get fully healthy and as teams do everything in their power to stop Cook, Allen's runs & passing will become more productive.  And I do expect Bean to make a move and bring in a legit #1 WR.  Last season our offense really took off after Cooper was added even though he himself didn't post big numbers his presence forced teams to defend the Bills differently.

He's in pace for just over 41 in 17 games, and he's sat out one half this season.

Oh, not to mention we were close to two more today but idiot penalties and such took them away.  Odds are he woulda had at least one of them.

Hell prolly end up 43-48
