Would you trade the Bills roster (except Josh Allen) for Ohio State's.

  1. 1. We'd have two future superstar receivers in Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate; and a future pro bowl safety in Caleb Williams.

    • Keep Bills roster
      48
    • Trade for Ohio State's
      10

My take is it's a jab at the lack of elite players on THE Buffalo Bills vs. potentially elite players on Ohio State.

It probably is. As an OSU fan and a Bills fan I felt that I could provide some real context. I’m plenty familiar with both rosters. When the conversation used to be “Alabama vs. (insert NFL team)” I knew some Alabama guys. I knew the top guys but couldn’t really speak to the quality of their guys. Anectodallly, they were elite recruits. Even though this wasn't intended to be a “real” conversation I figured I’d give actual thoughts as if it were serious.

For example, Jordan Hancock (Bills’ 5th round pick) wasn’t even a full time starter last year for OSU…

He was a slot corner and a bit of a chess piece. I liked the player but he wasn’t by any means a star. Lol, he may be the best or 2nd best safety on the Bills. 🤦🏻‍♂️

For context, they had 14 guys drafted this past draft. They currently have 5 projected 1st rounders and a bunch more guys getting drafted. They have NFL players everywhere and that’s not changing in the NIL era. They only bring in the best talent in the nation. They often sit for a little while but then go to the NFL. For example, Julian Sayin was locked in a QB battle until August. He currently has the 3rd best Heisman odds. The guys “on their bench” aren’t there because they aren’t future stars. They are sitting behind guys a year or 2 closer to the NFL.

True, but for context, they had 4 drafted the year before and only 3 are still in the league.

They’ll have 5 more 1st rounders this year (and a bunch more drafted). We have to look at the rosters built completely in the NIL era. If you started last year and go through every guy currently enrolled, they’ll have 40+ guys on NFL rosters and 15ish drafted in round 1.

Again, I’m not saying they’d compete with the Bills. I’m simply providing context as to the specific players and quality of them. If the Bills and OSU traded WR rooms tomorrow, the Bills would be much better. The same with safeties (and maybe LBs). The Buckeyes currently have the 2 top draft eligible LBs according to PFF. The best players on the Buckeyes will be better NFL players than the best Bills other than Josh. Downs and Smith would be Pro Bowl players right now. Reese looks like a top 10 pick. Tate is a 1st round WR. We don’t have a lot of that type of talent on the Bills at certain spots.

You don’t follow college football much, do you?  Most of the guys on our practice squad would not come close to breaking into OSU’s starting lineup.  It’s possible that every one of ISU’s starters will be drafted in the next three years. The top college teams these days have very few “future insurance salesmen” in the lineup.

This is the age old debate of would you trade “best college team” for “worst NFL team.” There’s no way.

it’s not like I don’t watch college football and see how good Ohio state and some of the other elite teams are. But it’s an apples to oranges comparison. Even of the 14 Ohio state players drafted last year, more than half will

flame out. That’s just the normal

bust odds for NFL draft picks.

The question was never whether OSU could beat the Bills.  That would be crazy!   🤔 On the other hand, assuming the OSU o-line, maybe the best in college football,  gives Josh a little time to throw, the Bills defense has nobody who could cover Jeremiah Smith OR Carnell Tate.

Yeah, the OSU WRs are absurd. Different question, how many NFL teams, today, would trade their top 2 WRs for Ohio State’s? More than 1/2 I’d presume. Honestly, it may be more. Smith is as good of a WR prospect as we have maybe ever seen and Tate is a 1st rounder (maybe the 1st WR off the board). Interested in the thoughts of some other OSU guys that have seen a ton of them. @YoloinOhio@Willyville Guy over under 7.5 NFL teams that would take their 1st 2 WRs TODAY over Ohio State’s? I’m taking the under.

This board doesn’t have many college football guys, but we’ve always loved us some Ohio State. I remember when Cardale Jones was going to save this franchise

I'd consider it if we could keep both lines lol but na that's ridiculous

They're projected to have 5-6 first round picks in 2026 and at least another 5-6 on the roster.  So, what would you give up for a dozen first rounders and numerous second and third round pix to build from scratch away from our aging, injury prone team with no impact players on either side of the ball except J. Cook and Oliver.  Our defense gives up 5.6 YPC!  Jim Brown, the GOAT, only averaged 5.2!  😂

This has to be the dumbest post I have ever read on here. How many NFL players does Ohio State have on their roster right now?

10 if they are lucky?

That's about how many I think the Bills have.  Should be a good game!

You could replace Josh with Shane Buechele and the Bills would still win by 21.

This would be if they let Shane pass. If he just hands off they’d win by 50.
