I expect Poyer to take Hamlin’s roster spot.  I think if Rapp isnt careful Poyer could replace Rapp for a series or possible game.  Rapp has not been very good.

I remember back to the first year Bernard started. So many plays that year either Poyer or Hyde were barking stuff to him and he would get the defense lined up right. The experience that a guy like Poyer brings is invaluable.

That was 3 years ago, he should have a handle on the defense by now

That's a depressing prospect--the bad, replacing the mediocre.

Poyer's skills have declined. He tries to compensate for that with aggressive play that often takes penalties.

Let's take odds on how many penalties against Poyer tonight.

At this stage Poyer is better than Hamlin and is better than how Rapp has played.  All that based off the Coleman hit?  At least he was there to make the hit.  Something im not confident Rapp does with his current play.  Rather a 15 yard personal foul or a completed pass over 20 yards?

Will they fill Poyer's spot on the practice squad with Micah Hyde after the call up.

I think they are looking at Kazoo and Steve Freeman

It seems like too many guys just look around at eachother after every play.

Good news: Poyer can help with that.
Bad news: We might need to play Poyer in order to help with that.

Why the F$&? Is Beane not signing a street free agent who can run at safety??!! Payer is even slower than White. I don’t doubt his skill and ability to see the plays he just can’t do shyt about it anymore and that’s the worst part . He will just get beat to the corner like he did against Cook last year when he was at Miami. And that was a year ago! Beane needs to make a move.

Beane should be getting rid of these old vets so McD is forced to uses young legs. Still don’t have a clue why Strong got demoted for Tre after the Baltimore game. Getting a hate on for these players I always loved because McD plays them way too long.

Because there isn’t anything better out there. It’s either a washed gay you know or a washed up guy you don’t know. But youse guys would get all excited about the washed up guys you don’t know because you haven’t been tracking their performance since they’ve been washed up. Case in point; this board would get all excited if the Bills signed Justin Simmons, but he looked completely done last year in Atlanta. Same goes for Vonn Bell, who lost his starting job and was cut from Cincinnati.

This is not acceptable. You have a unicorn at QB in his prime, and you can't even field a moderately good defense. I thought our coach is a defensive genius? Also, why do DTs like Ford and Settle do so well elsewhere?  The Bean / Mc Clappy combo is failing, and failing Josh.

Jairus Byrd was really hoping for that spot

Those 2 have a combined 13 tackles and 1 sack this season-yeah, they’re really crushing it

I’m all for playing young players and have them learn on the field then watching washed up has beens. And yeah I don’t really give a ***** if he knows the playobook. If he can’t make the plays it’s pointless. When McD took over this team he had to let the young players play because there was no one else. A lot of them became the backbone of the team for years. Now for some reason almost every young player can’t be trusted and we’re either holding onto or bringing back these guys that were once the backbone but are now way past their prime. Hard to improve that way. It’s more of a steady decline, which is what we have seen with this D

Poyer has taken Hamlin's role as the backup SS, behind Rapp. Hancock, the rookie, is the backup FS. Poyer is not taking a young player's role, and the only way he's getting snaps on defense tonight is if Rapp gets hurt. Did you want them to play a game without a backup at that spot just so you wouldn't have to see Poyer standing on the sidelines? Or would you rather they sign Vonn Bell off the street, who couldn't crack the lineup as even a PS player in Cincinnati? But hey, at least he hasn;t been tainted by ever wearing a Bills helmet.

Also, who is the magical athletic rookie that they are currently playing a vet over? Landon Jackson? Walker is playing most of the snaps. Sanders was playing until his injury. We have two rookie DBs on IR, one of whom was getting snaps despite being a low-round pick. Some people want to blame Beane for injuries. If injuries are the fault of the GM and are a fireable offense, then Brad Holmes (Lions GM), Eric DeCosta (Ravens GM), and John Lynch (49ers GM) should be taken out back and shot. Some teams have been incredibly lucky with injuries so far, and others have been decimated. The Bills are sort of in the middle of that continuum.

While I agree we need a DB badly, this is not a catastrophe.  Poyer is simply a break in case of emergency.  Besides whether today or not Oliver is coming back, and after tonight, we have Ogunjobi and Hoecht.  Patience Dania-San.  We win tonight, we go into the bye with replacements and a week off.  People get healthier, and probably better.

We do need Moore, Samuel, and Palmer much more involved.  It’s a mistake to keep pushing the issue with 00.  He’s limited.  He has a place, but our speed and separation is sitting on the bench.
