There’s nothing redeeming about the place at all, especially as you’re married. Try Phuket/pi pi island or Samui/Ko Phangyan instead. Bangkok is great though, and Malaysia has very friendly people although can feel a little boring after you’ve been in Thailand. Have a great time! Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I’ve heard that about pattaya. We’ve been talking about scratching it off the list and instead going to Koh Sanyo’s. Phuket seems like a vacation destination, which could be good for a month at a time 1 Quote

If you get a chance I’d also recommend a hop over to the Philippines and in particular Boracay, it’s not the most convenient flight but the beach there is fantastic, although it’s 15 years since I was there so hopefully it’s not been spoilt now. It was a great place to get my American food fix as they love American culture there (as do I) 🇺🇸 1 Quote

SirAndrew Posted Saturday at 07:11 PM Posted Saturday at 07:11 PM I’m not going to judge anyone in this situation, but this is exactly why I’m far more passive than I used to be. I’d never escalate any disagreement, because people are so soft, anyone could take the smallest issue to the next level. 1 Quote

I'm sure many others here could say the same. Yeah, same here, many of the greatest blurry memories of my life. That rule only applies when dealing with undesirables who can’t hold their liquor. You never know when the other guy is having a bad day and will be quick to reach for their gun. It’s not worth the mini-rant if you consider the worst case scenario. 3 Quote

Nothing good ever happens at a bar with too much alcohol in most cases. I have been going to bars abroad for 15+ years in Europe and Asia and can honestly say I’ve never witnessed a bar fight. Sadly, violence in public venues seems to be a distinctly American phenomenon, at least among wealthy developed countries. 2 2 Quote

Does "***** you, I'm Millwall" ring a bell? "Football hooliganism" is kind of axiomatic Brits drinking (or doing "snacks") and fighting is has kind of become a byword for British behavior abroad. For example "British Street" (Calla Gerona) in Benidorm, Spain 1 1 Quote

Roundybout Posted Saturday at 07:51 PM Author Posted Saturday at 07:51 PM (edited) From Fox59 of Indiana: “We can now report what is stated in the police narrative from last night’s stabbing involving former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez. According to the police narrative we received from sources Sanchez was not cooperative with police when they first arrived on scene. Another man listed as the victim in the police report told police he was delivering food when Sanchez told him he needed to move and couldn’t park where he was. That man told police Sanchez started threatening and following him and then attacked him. The man said he first tried to pepper spray Sanchez but it didn’t work. He said it was at that that time he defended himself with a knife. Police noted the man had a significant injury to his face. Sanchez was taken to the hospital in critical condition and underwent surgery. @FOX59 It is important to note that Sanchez has not been interviewed yet!!!!” Edited Saturday at 07:52 PM by Roundybout 1 Quote
