Can someone make this pick make sense? I NEVER hear this guys name mentioned? Is he alive? Is he really this bad?

Sounds like he was drafted more for next year, but I never heard of him referenced as a raw, developmental player.

Hes a compression/power DE, rotational player.

Thought to have a high floor and lower ceiling, but again.. DE3 hope as an effective rotational guy.

He is AJE 2.0, including the red shirt year where they try to mold him into something.

His role is to replace AJE as a rotational DE.

I'll admit I was a BIG fan of his at the draft.  Size, speed, growth over the course of his career in college.  I thought he could come in and be a motor guy who can properly disrupt and constrict the pocket.

From his preseason tape, it looked like he was simply slow to react and was getting fooled a lot.

I sitll think there is a player there, he just needs to adapt to the speed and complexity of the NFL.  I think he will be a late bloomer and will get more time next season as the DE depth thins

I feel like AJE continues to grow and improve.  I wouldnt give him a huge next contract, and someone prob will, but i'd keep him if it was reasonable.  Hell, he's got better hands and is faster than our WR1

When he has been active - Bills are 0-2. When he has been inactive 5-0.

NFL Debut: The third-round rookie made his NFL debut in Week 5 against the New England Patriots after being inactive for the first four games.

Recent Status: He was listed as inactive for the Week 8 game against the Carolina Panthers.

Position: He is a defensive end

In preseason i couldn't stand watching him get roasted by screens and just generally looking slow and tentative.

However... I'm not all doom & gloom on him.  He's a rookie, he doesn't play special teams as an end of roster player should, and with Hoecht back he's 6th on the depth chart of ends.

Rotational players are Beane and McDermott's specialty

Current regimen: 1000 calorie per day diet, three times daily light weight high rep weight program.  Bills hoping to have him at 165 lbs. before committing him to contributing. 🤔🤨

Basham had multiple sacks in the playoffs. Jackson's floor is lower than that.

To be fair

We haven't got to the playoffs yet.

we can convert him to an outside receiver.

Thank God they used that 3rd round pick on him instead of, I don’t know, trading it to Pittsburgh for George Pickens.

This was never going to happen. Why would they trade Pickens to the AFC Bills? The Bills also had pick 31 in the round.

Exactly. That is like the Bills trading with KC, we all know teams don't do stupid things like this.
