The Bills are undefeated and the Pats* are .500 with one loss against a 1 win team.  The Bills have won all their games by at least 10 points except for the opener against the Ravens.  The Pats* are not anywhere near as good as the Bills and all this fear and apprehension for the upcoming game makes no sense.

Also let's not forget the Bills are responsible for 25% of all their opponents' losses. And after tonight it'll (likely) be 2 wins as NYJ/MIA play each other.

They are doing that so people bet on the Patriots.

Bills ate better. But that point spread is too big.

What did we eat? And how will that affect our play?

Huge game. Need this win to strengthen their position for the 1-seed and the division. Lose and you're prob gonna be sweating out the rest of the year. They need this game

agree, the most important game is always the next game

Please don't use this argument. There are people all over question what the Bills have beat. The Bills are 4-0 and their opponents have 1 win TOTAL so far. 1  WIN. if not for the respect of Josh Allen, Bills would be treated like the Colts prior yesterday.

The difference is, the Bills have been a playoff team for 6 consecutive years and gone to the Championship game twice. Who they have beaten doesn't mean as much as an up and coming team like the Patriots

I think some fans fear (which I share!) is that the Bills become susceptible to mediocre teams that can play 60 minutes of football and minimize mistakes because the Bills are in an annoying habit of taking the middle half of the game off.  On top of that there was just so much sloppy undisciplined play.  30 points and a win are both great!  But we don't get to play Spencer Rattler every week.  The Pats are capable of putting a good game together and should not be taken lightly.  If we start hot, let's not get cute and start calling dumb plays.

The Panthers beat the Falcons last week 30-0,the so we should get dominated by the Pats and then win the next week by 50 or 60?

The cycle goes:

Panthers > Falcons

Pats > Panthers

Bills > Pats

Falcons > Bills

Full circle

Lol, someone forgot about Baltimore.

Patriots are an average to slightly above avg team --- this should be a W at home.

Actually Baltimore has very poor numbers. Their D is decimated. Yes, that was a tough opponent but the Pats will be just as tough. Good D, well coached, Maye is good. They will give us all we can handle. Just wait n see...

The good news is the Bills will respect the Pats and prepare accordingly.

I expect a dog fight.

By all account Barrimore is back and playing like a wrecking ball.

The Bills O should be able to impose their will if Brady doesn't get too conservative. The defense? I am not sure. Maye looks like the real deal but he is prone to mistakes if you come up with a creative defensive game plan that disguises coverages. The Steelers seem to have done this when they beat the Patriots (and really didn't deserve to).  Is Babich capable of doing so? I hope so.  But Milano and Oliver coming back would be nice.

My take is we’re gonna lose next week. With the current standings, our opponents to date have a combined 3-15 record. Our thrilling opening night comeback vs B’more turns out to be just like the last 3 games. Very flawed teams who woulda/coulda/shoulda won! Ravens are now 1-3 on merit and now Lamar is hobbled. The Pats* are 2-2 and just had a dominating victory over Carolina. Drake Maye is more polished than Josh was in his sophomore season. “HIM” had a TD & over 100 yrds receiving. They already know they’re the only team in the Division who can rival the Bills and we’re not even in October! They annihilated the Panthers as a tune up for Buffalo while showing the League they are legit! They know the chump change we’ve escaped tell the story WE also know. That we have an all-timer at QB, an impressive RB and 51 Jimmy’s and Joe’s who are easily fooled and allow their opponents to gouge them all day, choosing only to defend the deep third. They know we suck at tackling and playing Man in coverage and only Bosa is a threat to disrupt the pass. Yesterday showed more about how bad the Aints are than the perceived good the Bills are.
Go ahead Sean. Sit good players who CAN go -if needed, again. If Allen was bummed the last time the stadium emptied out in the 4th quarter, he’s in for a shock next week. It’s likely gonna look like the Covid year -imo.

GTFO

51-3 GOOD GUYS

That’s all well and good and fun for stat lovers, but none of it is relevant to the next game.

Also, Josh McDaniel is simply  better coordinator than Babich. That concerns me. Obviously, I’m not saying the Bills will lose. But I don’t think this will be an easy game. NE outplayed Pittsburgh, largely, and destroyed Carolina. They are clearly improving.

By what metric?  I'm seeing them as a bottom third rushing attack with ball security issues.

Sirius NFL radio has been talking about it.

Yup.  We need more discipline because coaching isn't going to get better

... When did you become so pessimistic about the Bills?  Some WILDLY negative takes coming from you today, and I don't have you on the usual suspects list.

You’re right, I’m wrong. Christ, I sound like my father. Never missed a play from the 1st preseason game in 1960 and never missed the chance to criticize our play. When they frustrate me, I typically back off a couple days to regroup. But what I’m criticizing isn’t a one-off poor performance. Only the Jets game showed our best performance on Defense. We have a few new players but we’re not getting any better. Yesterday was a shock. Many Penalties, clock mismanagement gaffs, poor tackling fundamentals and caught out of position routinely. Battling out of routinely poor drive starts is difficult for every team. But that’s what happens when you can’t stop the run. For as thrilled as I was with our opening drive TD, the rest of the game I wondered aloud whether we’d be soon be playing catch up the rest of the way. That’s no improvement from the now also-ran Ravens game. We’ve invested so much into the Dline yet to date it’s worse than last season. No pass rush sans 1 or 2 plays per game and overall maddening 3rd Down Defense.

I’d feel better about our situation if there were aspects that definitely showed improving play, but I don’t see much yet..

I still have some faith in Rousseau (though it's starting to wane a bit) - but it's hard to look back on that draft and not conclude we should have taken Barmore. That's exactly the kind of player our line needs.

Good god, it’s time for me to stay away from this board for a week.  Ya’ll are pathetic.

This is the level of stupidity that is coming from our message board.

On a relative basis, it literally does not get any better than this

I think a lot of people here lose track of the big picture.  I was reminded of this in another thread when someone said the Saints game was on of 17 and they all count the same.  They may count the same but not all game are of the same importance.

The New England game >> than the Saints game.  The coaches know it and probably planned accordingly.  You don't risk a healthy Ed  or Spencer for NE to get the lower level win against the Saints.   Winning the New England game gives the Bills a massive lead in the Division.  Increases the odds tremendously that the Bills will not only be in the playoffs but hosting a playoff game.

I expect a different level of focus for the New England game, much like the Jets game.

Every week we get the Buffalo Bills football fan syndrome in this thread. I shake my head. Yes every game will be tough, if we play awful we will lose but every week it’s the Patriots will be ready, they have Diggs and Drake Maye has been decent and some defenders that can make a play or two

……but we have the best player in the world, we have a top 5 Running back in the NFL , a great offensive line, and a defense that creates big plays when needed. We’re at home. I expect us to win this isn’t pre 2019 here

I mean eventually I guess the Bills will get caught by someone and you’ll be right
