As soon as he launched that balloon ball, my gut said INT. 2. Difference between Saints and Bills is that the Bills don't make big mistakes late. 3. Loved the TD to Kincaid 4. The second period was BRUTAL. 5. The 4th down flip to Shakir should be immediately removed from the playbook. 6. Surprised the Bills have taken the push tush out of the offense. Or seemingly so. 7. That game was significantly more stressful than it should have been. 8. Give the Saints their props. They fought hard all game. 9. Cook almost never looks like he is running and then he gets 6, 8, 10 yards a carry. 10. Glad Bishop got an INT. Thought he played well. Agree, though I think that 4th Shakir play is great. Just can’t run it 4th and short when everyone is up at the LOS. Quote
BigAl2526 Posted Monday at 12:36 AM Posted Monday at 12:36 AM There are times in Buffalo's history when it seemed like the Bills played down to the level of their opponents. This might be one of those years. I'm not doom and gloom by any means. I don't think there is any reason Buffalo cand reach the bye week undefeated. They will undoubtably win their division and there is ever reason to believe they will push deep into the post season. It's just that as they have done in the past, they are letting teams hang around that they should put away early. When you do that, there is aways a chance you get a bad bonce late in the game and you end up losing. I do think the return to health of Ed Oliver and Matt Milano, along with the addition of Hoecht and Ogujobi will make this defense a lot tougher. Quote

But the on schedule downfield passing offense was also once again very limited, and the Saints secondary is not good. It's the second game in a row against a poor secondary where we couldn't take advantage. Feels like if Cook isn't picking up chunks on the ground the drive is DOA. It’s a long season and who we are now isn’t who we will be in three months. It is the same every year. I’m making zero excuses for the offensive performance or scheme. On the other hand, you could clearly see when Josh just said “ Eff it” and take off. This team has been notorious for playing down to or below the level f bad opponents for the brunt of the McD era. I suspect as Josh, his pass catchers and Brady get on the same page, bit by bit it will get better. The D on the other hand. They are who some of us vociferously said they would be and I have zero faith in any appreciable improvement. 1 Quote

Definitely a guy that they expected to be better than he has shown this far when he entered college but seems like he might not ever get there. He was OK at times, way too many easy inaccurate throws to open WRs, including the non-TD to Cooks Oh yea not trying to say he’s good haha but hes probably hit decent this year..gets talked about like he’s an absolute bum though. he seems like he’s startin to get his sh*t together Quote

henry jones Posted Monday at 12:48 AM Posted Monday at 12:48 AM I am tickled pink that we are 4-0 and atop the AFC.... However, this sloppy play and awful defense is just not sustainable. I mean, after the Phins/Jets game is finished, our opponents will be a combined 2-14. And if not for Bill Burr getting creamed two weeks in a row, we could have easily lost both games. Love where we are but I can honestly see a loss to the Pats next week and this defense has no appearance of turning anything around. 1 2 1 Quote

That’s a fair point. I think they didn’t want to change the playbook for him. I’m guessing it’s a play he can run, just no one expected him to get tripped like that. Quote

I hate that I'm even hoping for average. But average might be enough w/ Allen running the O. Well, currently, the Bills are: 14th in yards allowed 17th in points allowed 16th in sacks 12th in takeaways I'd say that qualifies for already being almost exactly average. Yes, we played teams that currently have a shared record of 1-13, but let's not pretend that that record tells the whole story. Baltimore is still tied for 2nd most points scored this year (even after their loss today) and have a great offense with two HOFers, Miami has a lot of serious offensive weapons (Hill, Waddle, Achane, Gordon, Waller, Washington)---even if it hasn't come together for them yet. Sure, they got crushed by Indy in week one, but then played two close games vs. NE and Buf. New Orleans also has some pretty decent offensive weapons (Olave, Shaheed, Kamara, Juwan Johnson, Miller, Cooks). Yes, they got crushed by Seattle, but they were also in tight, one-score games with 2-2 Arizona and 3-1 San Fran. Even the Jets---they lost by 2 points to 3-1 Pitt, lost by 2 points to 3-1 Tampa, and lost to us. I'm not saying these teams are all good teams, I'm just saying that they (and their offenses) are better than a 1-13 record would indicate. No question the Bills defense needs to improve, especially against the run. But, let's not pretend like they are currently one of the worst defenses in the league. 4 3 1 Quote
