Allen rightly being given credit for the win. However, in the midst of an ugly night for the D it would be fair to give big Ed some credit for being the next most important cog in the victory. 1 1 Quote

I think DQ is trying to disengage and while I do think he is basically washed, I don't put that play mainly on him. Could he have done more? Sure. The bigger errors were Bernard and Rapp. And that was consistent throughout the day. Like @Buffalo716 said... you would hope for a bit more out of your Dline, but the bigger missed assisgnments were the 2nd and 3rd level not getting to their landmarks and filling their gaps. Ok I watched all their big plays on All22 right now. And to my completely uneducated eye it was mostly on Milano and Bernard, who were both abysmal, and then Rapp. I didn't see any major play where Williams or Bishop seemed guilty. Also, Benford had a bad game imo. Not talking about Hopkins circus catch, but he allowed two of Flowers' big gains, including TD. One thing. Can you have a look on 36y pass to Flowers with 2.42 to go in the 3rd which was 2 plays before Hopkins TD to 34-19? Flowers was wide open, do you think it was Strong who was supposed to be with him but got fooled somehow? He was following his motion pre snap. Quote

Yes ideally in a zone match you would pass it off but the motion probably through everything off Leaving strong to fight through all the muck... That's something that they will learn from 1 Quote

Williams hits the wrong lane on the first Henry touchdown. That was his gap and his missed it and ran into a blocker for an inexplicable reason. Agree though Bernard had a terrible game. Rapp was worse and Milano wasn't much better. Bishop wasn't as directly culpable on a big play from memory but he just still doesn't know where he is supposed to be his head is swimming out there and I don't think right now he deserves to be on the field. He is out there because they are hoping a light comes on and it allows his physical potential to flourish but if you had Sean McDermott, Bobby Babich or Brandon Beane 1on1 in a room gun to their head and asked them to name the two best safeties on the roster right now.... I don't think any of them say Bishop. They are trying to live through the growing pains but it is becoming increasingly difficult. I know the play you mean to Flowers. He is coming across from the left side of the formation of the motion and Strong seems to be following then he pops out the other side for a big gain and Strong seems to have stopped. I need to look back at the all22 but I suspect Strong thought he had passed him on in zone and the guy he had passed on to had read that differently and it was a busted coverage. Quote

I think it was zone match.. which probably 80% of the time you're passing it But the alignment after the motion benford went to man and I think one of the linebackers looks like they're running in man also.. so I think the match principle according to the other guys says switched to man Strong had a very tough technique to play with the alignment, probably was thinking if it's now zone or man because of the matching principle and hesitated at the line making it tough to fight through muck Edited September 9 by Buffalo716 1 Quote

Williams is playing the edge I think. Milano runs right by the gap that Henry ends up going through, and you can see him almost panic as he realizes what he just did but by that point two big fat men are plowing into his back and pushing him out of the picture. Also as the ball is being snapped Bernard is still actively communicating with the defense so nobody was ready. Baltimore got us with their cadence on that play as they did a few times throughout the game, and that 1 second head start gave their OL time to get into position and threw our whole 2nd level into disarray. Hopefully they get these mental errors fixed soon. We were not just flat out physically dominated which is good, that means the problem is fixable with the current personnel. These guys just weren't ready to execute their responsibilities. 1 Quote

The theory on the Cole Bishop brain fart blitz was that they snapped it so early he hadn't started to creep up (though I don't absolve him of blame because if that was Hyde or Poyer they just go "fine, no point blitzing now I'll just sit spare here" I know Cole is young but these mental mistakes are way too frequent). 2 Quote

Yeah if you're late on a safety blitz don't vacate your area lol That's probably the one time no coach will be mad that you freelance and cover an area... If you miss time it's so badly the blitz is already ruined Just cover someone Edited September 9 by Buffalo716 3 Quote

Sestak4ever Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Bunch of Raven fans calling for roughing. It was a bang bang play. Ed looked mid air when Jackson threw it and probably threw it earlier than he wanted because of Oliver coming in. They are crying that if that were Josh it would definitely be flagged. Sorry, but they are wrong. Good no call by the crew. Sour grapes from Raven fans. 1 Quote

They have to look no further than that same game to see Josh Allen take a hit to the facemask/head with no penalty being called. Brady would have 100 💯 gotten the call on the same hits to both Allen and Jackson. 1 Quote

Milano was worse on Sunday than he was at the end of the season in 2024. Ravens do a lot of incredible stuff, but the Bills DLine was up for it. Milano, Bernard and Rapp all had subpar games and you gotta have your off ball defenders on it against the Ravens. I actually think it was one of the better schemed games we've game. They flummoxed the Ravens offense with varying pressures, they got gap penetration, they backers on position to flow to the runners, and they had varied blitzes, rarely left open runners deep (killed the Bills on crossers of course). But when your off ball defenders just flail like that, not much you can do scheme wise On 9/10/2025 at 12:08 PM, NewEra said: I don’t think you can count flowers’ big play against Benford.
