Warriorspikes51 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I would hope Prater is signed to the 53 today? If not, desperate teams could look to poach him from the PS So, how do we handle Bass? Keep him on IR all season? Keep 2 Kickers on the 53? Waive Bass and hope he goes unclaimed then add him to the PS? (Not sure if that's possible / vested veteran) 1 Quote
notpolian Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I feel much more calm when Prater is kicking than when Bass is fwiw. Sign him to the 53 and let Bass stay on IR. 1 9 Quote

(Not sure if that's possible / vested veteran) Keep in mind that the Bills would have the opportunity to put him on the 53 if another team put in a claim on him. They still have 2 more PS elevations to use on him, so no real need to make that decision until after game 3. 1 1 2 Quote

Although he's really earned a spot Josh mentioned Prater told him pregame "I'll give ya everything I got" SOLID 1 Quote
somnus00 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago If Bass' confidence was shaken before...I can't imagine what this is doing for him. Either way, I hope he gets right. Bass is young with a huge leg. 1 Quote
First Round Bust Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Prater has not missd any kicks, plus a game-winner that he so cooly walked-up with the clock running and nailed, tho Hamilton missed blocking by a hair as our edge missed the block...so Prater is good....with lingering pelvic soreness Bass may have a sports hernia ? surgery would have him out 2-3 months, if so the answer is IR and Prater replaces (now the oldest player to every play for the Bills)...one for the old guys ! PoundingDog Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago One game, just one game so far. Orchard park kicking in the winter is something else. 1 Quote

Charles Romes Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I think we can put him on the protected practice squad list which allows 4 ps players to be protected - until we use up the number of callups. I think we get 3 more one already used. Quote
Buffalo716 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I was telling all my friends when we signed prater he might Wally pip Bass I think hes definitely a better kicker.. especially from 50 in The difference is he probably isn't hitting from longer than 55 now When you get to January February and the winds are swirling.. if you need the chance to hit a 58 yarder he might not be able to do that anymore Tyler bass can hit that So I'd stick with the hot hand for now but if he can't hit from 58 in Winter wind we probably have to go back to Bass And I'm pretty sure they said in the One direction his longest and warm-ups was 54 and it wasn't exactly windy Quote

Victory Formation Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Bass has been unreliable, at least let him audition.. Quote

Ya Digg? Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago He had a great night, no doubt, but there’s also a reason he was a free agent until last Thursday. Why wasn’t he signed by anyone else? Quote
FireChans Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Do nothing. if Prater keeps it up, cut Bass. There is no reason to stick with Bass’ highly paid brand of mediocrity. 4 minutes ago, Ya Digg? said: He had a great night, no doubt, but there’s also a reason he was a free agent until last Thursday. Mr. WEO Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Anyone catch him hugging the smelling salts before the kick lol Quote

That apparently happens on Tuesday, though I don't know if they actually announce who the protected players are. There is a max for four players per week and it has nothing to do with whether they were elevated or not. If they do not designate them as protected, teams don't put a claim in on him. They must sign him to their active 53. If Bills don't protect him, they can't stop him from leaving. 1 1 Quote
