BillMafia716ix Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I counted at least 3 times tonight Terel Bernard got put on his ass. He had a poor game tonight. Especially in the run game. In fact Milano and Bernard didn’t look great. Could some issues be brewing at LB? Quote

Small linebackers usually are not going to fare well when your defensive line can’t offer some resistance. 3 1 1 Quote
SCBills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I honestly don’t know what the plan is for the Ravens on Defense. We’re built to slow down the Chiefs, Bengals etc.. but anytime we play them in a big spot, we have 45 injuries and McDermott/Beane get an excuse. Against the Ravens, we have undersized, quick DT’s and undersized, quick linebackers. We need another plan aside from “load the box and hope Lamar spazzes” when it comes to a potential playoff rematch. Hairston & Hoecht could help, the rookie DT’s and Bishop need to get more reps (or sign Peppers), but we built this Defense knowing the Ravens pose a matchup threat. 3 1 Quote

All three LB and both safeties were hesitant and gawdawful because of it most of the night. Quote
Bookie Man Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We should have started off in a base 4-3 with DW. D tightened up enough when they made that switch. Bernard gets bodied way too easily. Quote
Richard Noggin Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) But Ed Oliver, though... Saw Dorian Williams out there a bunch, didn't we? Difficult to keep up in the stadium. Feel like he made a play in the 4th quarter. Edited 2 hours ago by Richard Noggin 1 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The thing I noticed was he was really lumbering and slow out there. Being small, injured, and slow isn’t a good recipe Quote
JP51 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Bernard was atrocious Milano was not much better Williams played fair. D line was a sieve we won i dont know how we pulled that out but we did... awesome! But that doesn't fix the defense it be nice if Josh didn't have to wear a cape every game ... Oliver was a bright spot... 1 Quote
Process Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Bernard was the one extension that surprised me this off-season. He wasn't good last year, then you add in the size/injury concerns and I really thought they would wait on extending him. 1 1 1 Quote

Last Guy on the Bench Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago He does have a nose for fumble recoveries though- I think going back to college. Quote
NickelCity Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago He needs a bounce back year if we're being honest. Week 1 and the Ravens so I'll withhold judgement. Season before last he was often the best player on the defensive side of the ball. Quote

It’s not an accident that he was the only other player besides Josh who got voted as a captain. Quote
UConn James Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago They had one replay with the center Linderbaum pulling, jumping over DT and then blocking a LB. When their OL is getting to the second level untouched, that doesn’t speak volumes about our DL. Happened a couple of times. 1 Quote

Big Blitz Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This is a terrible matchup for TB and why the Ravens game plan was the opposite of their disaster plan in the playoffs. You run your monster RB behind your monster OL at our undersized MLB. I want nothing to do with this team in January. It’s a terrible matchup - the worst matchup for our D in the AFC. That said - they’re a terrible matchup for most every defense. 1 2 Quote

Hairston has the speed they need but he’s small. He’d have no chance vs Henry, but who does. You’d need a 6-4, 250 LB who runs at least a 4.4 to deal with Henry and there aren’t many of those on the planet. Quote
