Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Lol I don't even think about it. I have my obituary ready though 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted September 6 Posted September 6 My immediate reaction will be elation and then emotion. I am a happy crier. So probably some tears. For me personally who started rooting for this team in year 2 of the drought it will probably feel a bit like the culmination of something too. Quote
Ray Stonada Posted September 6 Posted September 6 My thoughts will be on the forty years I’ve been watching and waiting for this moment. I think I’ll take a week off to spend in Buffalo. First order of business, talking to my dad, sister, nephews, and my high school best friend—the people who I text with every game even though I’m far away now. Next, heading to Elmwood to walk, eat and drink and soak it in. Then I will go to my mom and my older brother’s graves (next to each other) with a bottle of Jameson, and tell them all about the game. 1 Quote

Bill from NYC Posted September 6 Posted September 6 (edited) I will be overcome with joy for the folks on this board. I've been posting here for more than 25 years and I will look back fondly at the good and bad times we shared, to include the heartbreaking moments. There were just so many that I actually knew that we would lose the 13 game, and I don't think I'm alone with this. I have had the luxury of being a lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide Fan, and for those whose team never won a title, let me say that it really does make a difference. Alabama just got blown out by Florida St. and while I hated it, I recovered immediately as compared to 13 seconds, Stevie Johnson blaming God, etc. Bills Fans are the most loyal, funniest fans of any NFL Team. We are also the most tortured. I don't know when, but the Bills WILL be champions some day. I might not be alive to see it but it will happen, and a weight will be lifted from our long suffering shoulders. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited September 6 by Bill from NYC 2 1 Quote
T master Posted September 6 Posted September 6 (edited) I can not wait for the Bills to win a SB so I can tell all those haters that seem to know SOOOO much about football that want to fire Beane and McD to say take that and every chance I get tell them I TOLD YOU SO !! While they all still sit miserable even after winning one sit and complain because they will never be happy even after bringing a Lombardi to Buffalo ... Edited September 6 by T master 1 Quote
Simon Posted September 6 Posted September 6 My initial thought will likely be "Holy *****, I am way too drunk to drive; I wonder if it's too cold to sleep in the truck...." 1 2 1 Quote
716to540 Posted September 6 Posted September 6 I've been a rabid Bills fan since the late 70's. If/when they win the Super Bowl, my first thought will be that I wish my brothers and my parents were still alive to see it. 1 Quote

hondo in seattle Posted September 6 Posted September 6 I'd be reduced to tears and unable to think. Quote
Draconator Posted September 6 Posted September 6 I will go, "Whew! Finally!" Then I will go to my parents grave and place the Super Bowl winning copy of the Buffalo News on their headstone. Quote

I know the one who will be in my tribute & I'm sure there are many posters who can think of who to mention when the Bills win. I just hope I'm one of the posters and not one of the subjects. We should build something like the Vietnam Memorial in Delaware Park to all the Bills fans who loyally supported the Bills but didn't live to see the glorious day. Quote

KingBoots8 Posted September 7 Posted September 7 If it happens this year? That my dad may have had something to do with it. long story as short as I can: My dad passed away May 9th of this year unexpectedly after suffering a stroke while in the hospital a day after a procedure. He had heart ablations done numerous times before but this day was already difficult enough for my family as my wife also lost her dad on May 9th 14 years ago. We always joked that if one of us checked out before the other that we would do what we could to get the Bills their Super Bowl eventually. I was always going to be a mess when it finally happens. The relief, elation, and bliss would feel like nothing else short of the birth of my kids or my wedding day. But if this is the year, if our time really is now, I’m gonna chalk it up to my dad… and it’s gonna mean a hell of a lot more than ever. Side note: the only time he ever got to go to a game was in the preseason due to his work and his health. That preseason game happened to be against the Panthers, and we were right about at the 50 yard line about 12 rows back from the Bills bench. We were lucky enough to see some kid wearing #17 go out there and sling it for a little bit in the 2nd half. When leaving my dad said “that kid will be a star someday.” Yet another thing he was right about. Miss you dad. 3 Quote
