JohnBonhamRocks Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Huh, weird to me only because Sal was saying this morning don’t be surprised if they do not do this until after the game to avoid guaranteeing money. Must be a wash? 1 Quote

Long time NFL vet. Was a very good kicker for a long time. Used to have a huge leg, not sure if he still does at 41 years old. Signing someone like Prater over just brining back the guy they had in TC or another young guy makes me think Bass is having a really bad go of it from a health standpoint. 4 4 3 Quote

Yeah the kicker insurance is worth watching I thought it was also interesting they added the ST guy over Phillips to the roster I suppose Phillips does have multiple call ups 4 minutes ago, JohnBonhamRocks said: Huh, weird to me only because Sal was saying this morning don’t be surprised if they do not do this until after the game to avoid guaranteeing money. ngbills Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Just sign Peppers already. Would rather see what he can do in this defense than Sammy Franklin Jr. 1 1 3 Quote

Must be a wash? I’m sure that would have been their preference, but it’s hard to attract a FA to sign a veteran minimum deal that isn’t even guaranteed. 1 Quote
HappyDays Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Matt Prater last year was 6/6 on FGs including a 57 yarder and 10/10 on XPs. As far as emergency kickers go you could do a lot worse than that. 20 7 1 7 Quote

But if Bass isn't ready to go and you need someone to kick the first couple of weeks.... it makes sense. 4 1 Quote

I don’t think he’d be a good fit next to either Rapp or Bishop. Not to mention character concerns. Hes not a fit imo. Quote
First Round Bust Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Trey doesnt pracice yesterday and may not today or rest of week and Benford was limited yesterday..Looks lik Ingram may start and should be limited or removed from ST out fo necessity so Franklin gets the elevation and the reps and the pay..Prater may be a gametime decision.. we are starting a 3rd stringer and a rookie (Strong) may have to play (some) for Benford..sub-opitmal Quote
VW82 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 The fact we did these but didn't elevate Dane Jackson is surely a good sign. 1 3 Quote

I bet Bass is inactive on Sunday and Prater is called up from the practice squad. 10 minutes ago, First Round Bust said: Trey doesnt pracice yesterday and may not today or rest of week and Benford was limited yesterday..Looks lik Ingram may start and should be limited or removed from ST out fo necessity so Franklin gets the elevation and the reps and the pay..Prater may be a gametime decision.. we are starting a 3rd stringer and a rookie (Strong) may have to play (some) for Benford..sub-opitmal Benford will be fine. But yeah, when you lose your 1st round rookie (Hairston) and your long time starting vet (White) to injury, what you have left is not going to be very amazing. We're down to our 4th outside corner. Ingram has some experience, at least. Hope he can keep it together. 2 Quote

I believe he is now signed to the 53 man roster. That tells me they expect to use him every week...on ST 12 minutes ago, VW82 said: The fact we did these but didn't elevate Dane Jackson is surely a good sign. They still may Franklin was signed to our active roster. Meaning he doesn't go back to the PS after this week. He would have to be released. He has obviously shown what they expected to see on ST in practice enough to expect him to be a core ST player Quote
