Pecker Posted September 2 Posted September 2 I wish we resigned Hollins instead. He was better and not injured. 1 Quote

Yes, but Hollins is making $4.2M per year and Gabe is almost certainly on an NFL minimum salary. These things matter when you've spent up to the cap and beyond. 1 Quote
Florida Bills Fanatic Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Having lived in multiple NFL cities, I've seen other teams recycle former players back to their rosters. Sometimes it was because of familiarity with their system, sometimes to help younger players, sometimes it is to take advantage of a particular skill, or sometimes because they were the best guy left available. Outside of the drops and games where he couldn't get open, I remember the blocks that help spring the running game. With our bare footed wonder now in New England, maybe Beane wants to add some physical toughness from the wide receivers to support the run game. I could be as simple as Josh wanted him back. We won't really ever know but I don't mind the move. Quote

I’m just sick of bringing back guys Bills let go for a reason and bringing them back after they failed on lesser teams. I’m sick of the D system and the fact it takes a Harvard grad to learn the playbook in one offseason. Sick of Beane chasing one play. At the end of last year after we came up short against the Chiefs in a one score game for the third time, he said he’d be happy if he was in the same situation next year. We are losing in those situations. 1 Quote

Well to be fair Gabe Davis was our number two wide receiver Now he's coming back at the practice squad.. that's not exactly the same opportunities.. he's probably better than 95% of practice squad wide receivers maybe 98% Quote

This is my worry, and argument against everyone who says it’s just a practice squad signing. Every year we’ve decided help was needed at the receiver position mid season. Davis is now in place to be that help this season. Quote
DapperCam Posted September 2 Posted September 2 2 hours ago, Simon said: Aside from that one outlier game vs teh Chiefs, his playoff averages are as follows: 4 Targets per game 2.3 catches per game 45 yards per game 0.3 TDs per game 765 yards and 5 TD pace over a season. Those are pretty good stats for a #3 WR that blocks well. Not great for a #2 WR that is supposed to be a threat. 1 Quote
