  1. 1. How will you feel about Keon after the season?

    • Superstar- Beane hit a home run. Bonafide WR1
    • Very happy with his progression. Definitely worth draft position.
    • Jury is still out- he was ok but was hoping for more.
    • Could be a bust but there was some evidence that he could improve
    • 🗑️ He trash

Lol

The run game will be even more pronounced than last year, with Cook continuing his ascent, and ditto for Davis.  And all 3 catching more balls too.

Still shocked to see some disparaging the running game, not seeing with their own eyes what happens when Josh Allen has a complimentary running game that is almost as high level as his passing.

The Bills had the most balanced scoring machine in NFL history last year, the only team ever with 30 rushing and 30 passing touchdowns. Not a coincidence that Josh won the MVP the same year that happened.

If you want the Bills to win this year, you should want them to run the stuffing out of the ball--and not engage in such silly statements as in bold above.

This is what I’d been hoping for for years.
As much as I bash Beane I love the O line and running backs he has gotten us and love Kromer being the coach.

He might be top 5 most positively influential people when talking about our teams success

Keon was my guy before that draft. In this year's bold predictions thread I predicted he will lead the team in receiving yards and receiving TDs, with 8+ TDs. I'll stick with that prediction. He worked his ass off this offseason including workouts with Allen before training camp started. Between that and the training camp reports I'm fully bought in that we are going to start seeing that physical upside unlocked.

That being said I'm not going to predict superstar production. I'd still bet on under 1,000 yards even as our #1. I expect us to run the ball a ton this year, possibly even more than last year whether fans like it or not. I envision a personnel grouping of Coleman, Palmer, and Hawes punching opponents in the mouth. No one tracks run blocking stats but it will be a big part of his game this year.

Not sure how I never noticed that he was the guy you wanted in the draft. 👍🏻

eager to see how much the added  strength helps in the run game.  He had some nice pancakes last year.  I felt that Mack was such a big part of our run and rac game last season, but Palmer can be an asset as a run blocker too.  I wonder if we use less 6 OL this year due to the addition of Hawes.

Draft perceptions are funny. Fans universally hated the Coleman pick and loved the Bishop pick. They hated the TJ Sanders pick but loved the Landon Jackson pick. It's still very early for all of those players but the exact opposite perception looks more accurate as of now.

I believe he’ll be good but not great..

70 catches

750-800 yards

4-8 TDs

Not an elite player, but a key player in our offense..

I'd be thrilled with that.  I'm expecting more around 55 catches for 600 to 700 yards.  Palmer and Shakir I'm counting on getting more targets.

It's a weird one with Keon. I finally watched the latest Hard Knocks and was struck that through 4 episodes we've seen nothing of hi. I really thought he'd be the star of the show. I wonder why he hasn't been featured - is he so much about being all business that he wanted zero distractions?

Also just watched Dawkins' interview on first things first and was shocked by how he talked about Keon. "I've never seen a jump from year 1 to year 2 that I've seen with him", "the rest of the league is going to be shocked".

I watched his off season training video and did get excited about this year, hope he can deliver somewhat on what Dawkins was saying. What he lacks in speed he can make up for in strength with those contested catches, and it'd be great to see him start to be a dominant player that draws attention away fro the rest of the wideouts and allows them to make their own fair share of plays.

As to the question, I don't think superstar but do think we'll be very happy and will see him as well worth his draft position.

Was Jerry Rice fast?  No.  Did Jerry Rice separate?  Yes.  Can Keon??  I think so.

Yes this is the issue

Separation is more about suddenness at the top of your route/ contact point w DB than just running away from your man

to my eye Coleman lacks the ability...just doesn't move violently enough

Preseason is all about selling hope to fans (fanatics). We have a good team, but only one superstar. All we need is 4-5 other players to outplay their contract, and to remain relatively healthy, to have a real shot.

keon is, at best,  a solid contributor. But that’s all he needs to be

I have a slightly unhinged, homeristic theory that McD/Beane won't let HK near him, because they don't want the Ravens to know how good he is.

You know what, part of me thought the same. Do they want him to go under the radar so people don’t see how good he is? Then another part of me thought they just want him focused.

either way I’m excited to see him in week 1

The running game was the foundation of last year's success and will be again this year.

I think that the run, and the backs catching the ball, were actually underutilized last year though statistically they had great numbers in the receiving game.

The Bills have some of the best analytics people around and they know that, so this year MORE.

Have always said: when Josh Allen has a great running game the Bills will be almost unbeatable.

Hard Knocks was made for a guy like him, who likes to make people laugh.

But Coleman is super focused and seems to want nothing to do with any distractions right now. He knows what he wants.

You can see it in his sharper route running and cuts and in his demeanor on the field and off.

Just listen to what his teammates and coaches are saying about him--they consistently speak of the same kind of Growth in Coleman.

Yup, week 1, against one of the best secondaries in the league, in a big game.  Perfect place to show what he has become.

I agree he lacks suddenness. He is also fighting against the instinct. I mentioned it many many times last year. His natural basketball instinct is to feel the contact and then play off that. There is some muscle memory re-programming to do. Those who have been at camp have suggested there was progress in that facet. I hope we see that translate in the season.

I have called my projection for his season already: https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/topic/260320-are-fan-expectations-too-high-for-keon-coleman/page/3/#findComment-9639442

If he hit those numbers I'd say that is proof he can be a good #2 receiver. Which is what I think he can be if you have a legit #1. And the Bills as yet don't.

He’s a hot name in fantasy circles, for what that’s worth

As he should be. Any of the WRs can make a case for being Allen’s number 1 this year. No clear cut favorite has really separated themselves. Shakir to an extent has proved to be Allen’s trusted 3rd down option. I think last year was an anomaly. Rarely do you have a MVP QB without a 1000+ yard WR1. Somebody is going to break out and Coleman is going to be given every opportunity to do so.

I went with the jury is still out option just because I'm an even keel kind of guy.

Coleman had put together back-to-back solid games versus Tennessee, then Seattle. The Seattle game was against one of the better CB's in the league in Tariq Woolen. He was just starting to hit his stride when Poyer pulled that dirty crap. When he returned, he was kind of the odd man out and never regained that momentum.

I do think Coleman is going to be better. I think we see numbers more along the lines of 2022/2023 Gabe Davis. I hope for more, but around 50 catches, with 800 yds, and 7 TD's wouldn't be bad.

I think your optimistic take is probably spot on.   That's if Joe Brady allows josh to throw the ball this year or if we're gonna be mostly a run heavy offense again.

…that scored the most points in franchise history

Pretty low bar.

As for me, like 50 for 900 5 TD
