Vrabel is a good coach, but I don’t think he’s some genius that’s gonna revolutionize the league. In Tennessee, he handed the ball to Derek Henry 400 times a year Yeah he’s not gonna revolutionize anything. I still remember the 2019 game when they missed 3 FGs and were down to us 14-7 in TEN with 6:30 to go and it’s 4th and 4 from BUF 35. He trots santos out for a 53 yarder (his longest attempt of the day) after dude missed a 36 yard kick the drive before. There’s stubborn, then there’s rocks, then there’s Mike vrabel Quote

Would you still want him in the mix, considering how thin we are on the back end? Interested to hear your thoughts. Quote

Should be cheap as hell too. And will be 30 in a month with eroding skills. And legal issues. No longer does returns. Hamlin isn't going anywhere. His contract is fully guaranteed and they trust him. Cole Bishop will start. And if he gets hurt or isn't working out, they also have Jordan Hancock waiting in the wings. Who they used at Safety a lot more than I was expecting this offseason and showed good things. Hamlin is more of a depth piece with starting experience. Poyer is a break glass in case of emergency. There's even still Cam Lewis here as well. Our Safety room has more options than we did last year already. Bishop needs his shot so we can figure out if he's the guy or not. We did the same thing with Terrel Bernard, who was also a complete unknown and coming off injuries. What if we had replaced him in the lineup before he ever got his shot? We don't know if Bishop is or isn't the answer right now. But we have to find out and the only way to do that is to play him. He very well could be. But if he isn't, we already have veteran floor options with years of experience starting in this Defense and we'll evaluate Hancock's potential to possibly be the long term answer. Hamlin won't be starting. But that's not good enough? I don't understand the obsession with getting him completely off the team. If you look around the league, you can do far worse than Damar Hamlin as a 3rd or 4th Safety on the roster. Yet anytime a Safety, literally anyone released, it's "better than Hamlin, git r dun!". I could understand not wanting him to start, but that's already not happening. I don't get obsessing over replacing him as a bench guy. And if Peppers is such a no brainer and such an upgrade, why would he come here to be a Backup? Edited Saturday at 11:25 PM by BillsFanForever19 1 2 1 Quote

He'll be a good culture guy there, but as a coach, I think he's kind of middlin'. He benefitted greatly when the Titans had those good years from having excellent coordinators, and Tannehill playing the best football of his life. Disagree on Vrabel, unfortunately. I think he's going to make them good pretty quickly. Whether they will become better than that will largely depend on Maye, I think, and how good he actually is. If McDermott did that everyone would be calling for his head, not anointing him. 3 Quote

McD had TWO years worth of wins last season while masterfully losing the finale last year to “only” have 13 wins…..and some people are just waiting to pounce. Quote

Talent level for those Titans was akin to what McD was working with during his first two; 9-7 & 6-10 Helps when you have a GM in synch with your vision and the QB to boot. This Pat team, whilst it doesn’t have the record from last year to show, is certainly above what he had in Tennessee. I’ll give him 2 years to judge whether it was solely the roster in during those 2 seasons or the combination of both Vrabel’s coaching ability and the team sheets. Quote
