I wonder whose decision it's been to not allow a camera anywhere near Keon?

Something about the film speed causes all the shots of him to be out of synch with the soundtrack.

Imagine you're a Bills' key player, you excitedly tell all your family & friends that you're gonna be on TV. Everyone is pumped & tunes in to see you.

Then it airs, and unless you're Josh, Dion, Ed, Ray, or Cook, you're only shown in the background (if you're lucky)- while the cameras are following all these guys who might not even make the practice squad.

There are 10+ key starters who've either not been shown at all, or just in passing while showing something else.

I love it but man the Bills are driving what they show and there is way less access to the real "process" that made Hard Knocks great in its early seasons, I think this is the most watered down version there has been.  If I was a fan of a random team, no way I would be able to watch this.

That's where I am on it. It's only remotely watchable for me because it's the Bills.

The early seasons were amazing.

It was *never* a good thing to show the dreams of young men being shattered with the public airing of their firing. It’s completely unnecessary. I’m thoroughly enjoying this program.

Between Dawkins and his race cars, Epenesa and his python hunting and watching Davidson tonight (won’t give away his off-season activity) I will now be worried about injury each and every day of the year. Ugh.

Can you imagine if they had done Hard Knocks when OJ was still on the team?

I think you read into what I wrote a little

For those who have never watched a season, I highly recommend the Browns one (2018) for the ultimate "No matter how bad we are, we are not that bad!" experience

The coaches meetings in that series were outrageous

I thought there were only 20 seasons of the show, including this one?

Some of them were so boring they seemed twice as long.

Haha, I've referenced those meetings here as well. Haley and Gregggg just circling Jackson like sharks in the water.

That's actually one of my biggest NFL "Damn, was I wrong!" confessions.

After 2014 when Marrone ditched the Bills, I really wanted them to hire Hue Jackson as HC.

Instead we got Sexy Rexy and we know how that went, but Truth is that Jackson sucked as an NFL HC.

Which is why I got my fine seat on the sofa.

Not sure why they were celebrating Gore Jr spelling "neighbour" wrong?

In his defence, his dialogue added some colour and flavour to the programme

Thought the  part about Allen working with this Chris Hess with this 3D software was interesting in that it mentioned all the QB's he's worked with:  Allen, Brock Purdy, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson and Caleb Williams.

I guess Allen was the only one who graduated!

Just watched it. I enjoyed it for the most part but I agree with most that the access given to hard knocks seems very limited. I’m still not a fan of McD as a coach that can get us the 1 seed and/or lead us to a Super Bowl BUT I do like the guy as a person. This series has made my disdain for him go away so thanks for that Hard Knocks lol

I agree. I never watched before,  so I hadn't seen players cut. I'm sure a part of me might enjoy seeing them go through that but it just seems wrong.

Watched it last night.  It's not that it's painfully boring it is that there is only so much story to tell with many of these guys. It dawned on me last night I guess.

If you followed me around at work on a given day I'd not be so keen to want to put myself out there for your amusement. These guys are at work. Many of them don't care about the cameras or nonsense. They want to make a living.

I also don't get the whole smittenness of Zach Davidson. They really hyped him up and showed the coaches and Beane loving him. Only to cut him.

I wonder if there is a disconnect between the organization and the show. To put that many quality statements out there with the guy in the show to make us think the org loved him... To cut him.

Agreed. Good teams are just guys going to work and "doing their job". Nothing too entertaining as it is.

WRT Davidson, maybe they (Beane) knew he was likely cut and wanted to talk him up so he catches on with another team? The Bills do a pretty good job at setting guys up to get work elsewhere.

i thought that (about davidson) but hope that is not the case. i am sure the team has a lot of editorial ability with the product which waters it down tremendously but i would like to think that the show is more of a documentary vs a reality show.

i don't need real world. i need a hungry lion stalking a baby giraffe because it is feast or famine.

either way, i am surprised that Davidson didn't earn a spot over anyone else. i expect he will be on a roster as a TE somewhere. i figured he or quinton morris would be on the PS since Morris was cut by the Saints. maybe i am partial because he is a BGSU falcon but i liked him. i'm a sucker for the MAC schools because they are fun to watch and almost as good as the Big 10. they're a lot better than the redneck schools of hillbillies and criminals of the SEC.

That's how hard knocks gets its compelling and emotional footage. They try to follow guys who are going to get cut because you are supposed to feel bad for them when they get cut or super happy for them if they make the team against all odds.

That's a big reason why it is boring. The Bills are a well run organization that prioritizes high character, hard-working players, and that really limits any drama. The dysfunctional organizations are a lot more interesting to watch. Everybody loves a good dumpster fire.

Yeah but they already stopped all that documentary stuff with the no cuts, no cameras in coaches' offices stuff. This is all fluff and marketing this year.

They need to go back to the bad teams next year.

Give me full access in the Raiders building. 😆

What other last place teams would make for good TV?
