Desert Bills Fan Posted August 26 Posted August 26 (edited) The Seahawks released Marquez Valdes-Scantling after they couldn't find someone to trade for the veteran receiver and the $2.5 million that remains on his one-year contract. From a financial standpoint, that had to be a tough move to make since he's guaranteed another $1.5 million on top of his $1.5 million signing bonus. But from a competitive standpoint, it was their only choice absent a trade. Seattle signed Valdes-Scantling to be their WR3 and to help replace some of the speed their offense lost in the DK Metcalf trade. But because he doesn't play special teams, he couldn't be any lower than that on the depth chart if he wanted to make roster. Rookie fifth-round pick Tory Horton clearly outperformed him over the summer to the surprise of no one at TBD… Edited August 26 by Desert Bills Fan 3 Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted August 26 Posted August 26 (edited) The adenoidal broadcasters (j.g.) at WGR will be clamouring for the Bills to sign him. * If I was the S***hawks, I would have him selling beer. Gotta recoup some of that $1.5m. Edited August 26 by Ridgewaycynic2013 Quote

Ralonzo Posted August 26 Posted August 26 If I could get a big signing bonus and suck at my job and get let go and have some funemployment and then do it all over, again and again, I sure would. 1 Quote
Johnnycage46 Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Can we please start a new thread for every player that gets cut that once played for the Bills? 1 2 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted August 26 Posted August 26 I'll give him credit. He made quite a few big plays for the Saints last year. He can play but is a one trick pony. 1 Quote

He had 385 yards, 4 TDs and 22 YPC last year in only 8 games with Saints. Prorate that over 17 games and as compared to Bills WR group, only Shakir would have had more receptions and yards. Hollins had 5 TD last year in 17 games and Coleman had the highest YPC at 19. Quote

Wallymo Posted August 27 Posted August 27 While he has all that speed, the man can't catch the ball over his shoulder. Any deep ball requires that he make a full pirouette for a chance at a completion. I don't get how so many general managers can't see what any average fan can. It was no surprise MVS was cut any more than Mecole Hardman -- these guys are fast but glaringly deficient in other important skills. Quote
Bills!Win! Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I need to keep finding jobs where i can get paid a year’s salary to get laid off or fired 1 Quote

Yeah i'll admit i dont get all the hate he gets around here. He *can* be a game breaker. He's not consistent. But name the Bills WR who can take the top off a defense? Quote

RyanC883 Posted August 27 Posted August 27 the suprise here is that SEA has like no one at WR currently. Top guys banged up. TE pass heavy offense perhaps. Darnold must be second guessing this move. 14 hours ago, BuffaloBillyG said: I'll give him credit. He made quite a few big plays for the Saints last year. BuffaloBillyG Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Lands on his feet in one of the weakest WR rooms in the NFL. Good for him. 1 Quote

UHaul rate Seattle to San Francisco less than Seattle to Pittsburgh. Definitely the tipping factor. 👍🏽 17 hours ago, Johnnycage46 said: Can we please start a new thread for every player that gets cut that once played for the Bills? Are you paying by individual thread? C.Biscuit97 Posted August 27 Posted August 27 If being a great receiver was all about being tall and running fast in a straight line, he would be a HOFer. Seems like a good dude and had a solid career. Salute to him. Quote
