Beane has to earn his money now acquiring a realistic corner to play opposite Benford for the first four games until Hairston can play and Tre recovers. Dane Jackson, Ingram, are not the answer to any questions and Strong is a raw rookie who is a work  in progress. There will be plenty of cuts in the next week and corner and safety is an area of weakness that will be exploited by teams for sure. The guys that have been victimized in the preseason will be on the field unless we can sign and incorporate some better options immediately into our system. Isn’t it sad that we made all these acquisitions for the D-line in the offseason and did nothing to fortify the secondary.

I’ve read many posts about acquiring a CB that is another team’s cut. Finding a good CB this way is not realistic. 32 teams want to be 5 deep at CB and they’re all looking for help. We’re also at the tail end of the waiver priority  list. On the off chance a team is going to get rid of a CB worth rostering then that team will be trading that player. I’m happy to get a CB that way, but there won’t be many.

The other option is to meet the price of Gilmore or another healthy vet. I’m not sure how much he wants, but I’d sure find that out if I were Beane.

What a weird answer.

I had to get an MRI not long ago and the results were done an reported to me in about an hour. And that was at a busy hospital.

The team takes their own MRI, with their own doctors in house and can't get the results in a week? What is this, 1965?

I get why he isn't giving info, but if they want me to believe a billion dollar franchise with in house medical staff can't get results almost on the spot....that's just insulting our intelligence.

I thought it odd too. Perhaps they’re waiting on actually having the MRI done due to swelling. It’s been three days now (I think) since the injury so that should be under control. Or maybe that was just a deflection. The MRI was done and results reviewed, but the Bills don’t want to have to answer questions about the results.

Yeah, I always find this strange. I've had MRI's and CT's at loads of hospitals across the country and I've never waited more than 24 hours. Maybe 36 if timing was weird.

I don’t think that statement is being made to insult anyone’s intelligence. The Bills, if the Tre news is bad, may not want to tip their hand about a desperate need to acquire a CB.

It’s really too bad that Jackson or Solomon haven’t shown anything to date. If they did, Epenesa would be a prime trade candidate to land a CB.

Cuts and extensions.  The cap is bs and a lie.

It’s so tiring feeling like we are never healthy on defense. It’s week 0 and somehow we might be starting a 3rd string CB against the Ravens. I know there’s nothing we can do about it but the ***** gets old. It never feels like we are just playing. It’s always a yeah but…It’s week 1 FFS. We don’t even play guys in the preseason. Why are we here?

Oof. That's kind of the opposite of the optimism Beane's verbage brought. Hopefully it's just precautionary.

How many days ago did Tre injure his leg, three days ago? And they are still waiting for MRI?

Man, get over yourself.  You’re living in one of the greatest eras of Bills history and this is what you write about?  6 straight 10+ win seasons and 5 division titles?

To answer your question?  I don’t know why you’re here.

From Sal Capaccio (WGR550):

“Been asked several times for the scenario if Tre’Davious White is out any length of time/into the regular season. Here are my thoughts:

If they’re confident Tre can play Wk 1, I think Ja’Marcus Ingram makes the roster over Dane Jackson because Ingram offers more versatility. He can play outside, nickel, and dime safety.

If White is going to be out a significant length of time, I think Jackson gets a spot on the roster. That doesn’t mean it would be for Ingram, specifically. It could be for him or someone else at another position. It could also lead to Tre being on IR/Return and open a spot, anyway.

If White might miss a couple weeks, I think Ingram still makes the roster over Jackson, and then Jackson can be elevated from the PS for a couple games.”

Don’t even try that with me. I’m constantly saying we need to enjoy the ride and appreciate what this is. I’m fully aware of how lucky we are to have the best player in the nfl on our team. I’m not the one for that. What I’m saying is can we get a break for once? We are going to all look back and appreciate this run someday but it absolutely will change if we never finish one. We have to win a Super Bowl here or this will never be what it should. I just want to feel like we have all hands on deck for a change. Seems like we are dealing with something every week and can’t ever just be at full strength. Go win 1 ring then all the little stuff doesn’t matter. Until we do..edges are up

They're not waiting for an MRI.......that's coach-speak for "I'm not giving you any information."

….and I’m fine with that. We should not feel entitled to know everything they know.

It’s not a weird answer. McD is in no position to provide a diagnosis and prognosis. The results of the MRI are undoubtedly known. What may not be known is what it means for Tre and how the Bills are going to act. It’ll all be announced at once.
