Fair.  We know he's capable of having big games though. Like I said, as long as he's not the #2, which God help us if he is.

If he was capable of "having big games" Jacksonville would have not eaten that 20M in cap across 2026 and 2027.

Just say no to drugs...like previous players who are a shell of what they used to be...which wasn't much.

People have selective memories. He was awful his last year here. No chemistry with Josh. Coming off serious injury at the end of his career. He does not solve any issue they have that I can see.

I think it was the Eagles game that Gabe and Josh were not on the same page on a potential td play towards the end of the game, and as a result we lost the game.  I do think people are forgetting about all the times Josh and Gabe connected on deep passes when Daboll was calling plays.  I think Gabe caught more deep passes from Josh than any Bills receiver past or current.  Nothing wrong with doing a little due diligence.

They must be out on Moore,  I'd take him asap, great blocker and he'll be WR 4 or 5 , a role he excelled in

The only issue I have is Gabe doesn't play ST. Which not important if you're in the top 3 but after that think you need to contribute elsewhere if taking up roster space.

So why do you think the Bills are talking to him?  Rather obviously McD and Beane think the WR room is inadequate to the point that Davis is a viable option.  I mean, most of us here have been saying the WR room was lousy for months.

Right - he plays the snaps behind palmer and coleman.  Gets open downfield.  Plus blocker.  Has some "clutch".

He did end up missing the playoff games that year with an injury and we ended up getting to see what playing trent sherfield for 66 snaps looked like.

The guy is washed. There are currently over 300 wide receivers in NFL camps. Gabe Davis isn’t one of them and there is a reason for that. It has nothing to do with money.

The closest I would want him to the team is on the practice squad, and I'd rather have young developing players there than Gabe Davis.

Davis is not even close to a meaningful upgrade from any of the current options. The only thing he might do better than any of the bubble guys is block. He was incredibly frustrating to watch his last season here and we all knew the Jags massively overpaid him.

The scuffles with the fans don't help anything either. Thanks for the playoff game Gabe but I'm very uninterested.

Who should the Bills be talking to rather than Davis?

If Gabe comes in then someone is leaving - Samuel or Moore.  And it makes me think that if they are serious about Gabe that they may be looking to trade Samuel as I think Moore and Shavers are battling right now for one of the spots and Shavers plays special teams too on top of having some speed.  And none of Gabe, Samuel, or Moore have any special team value, so really feels like Shavers is ahead on the battle at this stage.

So kind of feels like if Gabe joins the team officially, there is a good chance it could end up being him and Shavers in and Samuel and Moore out.

I don't know what Davis looks like now on the field, and would rather see one of the young guys get a shot.

But Davis, well, on his good days, would add a nice element to this offense--if he still has those pretty rare days that is.

I think safety is more of a concern.

You are right.  It has nothing to do with money - because it has everything to do with he couldn't pass a physical yet as he wasn't yet recovered from his injury.  He is a lot better than many of those "300 WR's" in camps.  He isn't washed, he was hurt.

Should he be a WR2 somewhere - not really, he is a lower tier WR2 at best.  But as a WR3/4, he has great value to a lot of teams as both a blocker and a receiver.  To call a guy in his 20's who has been as productive as him "washed" is just a wild over exaggeration coming off a tall glass of Hater-ade.

I do not agree about Davis. I was happy to see him go and I am not anxious to see his diminished self back in any role.  If they are thinking of putting Samuel on IR to start they would probably like someone available in addition to Shavers but Davis is not it imo.

You start Shakir, Coleman, and Palmer of course.  Shavers is the new Mack Hollins as the 4th guy and the gunner on special teams.  And having a guy like Davis as the 5th guy that already has a bond with Josh would not be a bad idea.  I think they unfortunately do an injury settlement with Samuel, and Moore gets cut unless he showed a lot in the scrimmages with Chicago.  Shenault or Hamler might stick as WR/return guy, and you stash Wilkerson on the practice squad.

Davis is not coming in with pre-Brady use.  Shakir, Coleman, Kincaid are still the primary pass catchers.  Wr 4 or 5 Davis is very good.  Davis is a better wr than Moore.  He very well could be better than Palmer.
