There were multiple playoff games where Davis was the guy Josh went to time after time in big spots. The first playoff run season was the Gabe Davis we need. He was the 4th guy, wasn’t on the field constantly fresh legs. Made countless big plays down the sideline. He’s not a guy you run out there to be a starting WR. But he’s the perfect rotational WR for this offense 3 1 1 Quote

They beg for guys constantly that are less than marginal. Now they don’t want this guy. A guy that Josh has chemistry with. Gabe Davis as your 4th option is excellent for this offense. These 2 on the morning show are an absolute embarrassment We talking about Gabe Davis still? He and Josh had zero chemistry. So many times they were on different pages. A lot of people like to chime in that once we lost Diggs Allen won MVP. The bigger reason Allen's play ascended last year was we also lost Gabe Davis. I guess this board just likes having WRs that drop the ball A LOT. That run to the wrong spot. That have a low catch rate and a higher than normal rate of passes being intercepted when targeted. 1 2 2 1 1 1 Quote
BillsVet Posted Tuesday at 01:26 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:26 PM One of these years Beane will stop butchering the WR position. Maybe next year. Maybe 2027. Hard to tell at this point. 6 1 1 Quote

Mat68 Posted Tuesday at 01:28 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:28 PM Ironically, Gabe is a guy no one seems to want. Remove the injury plagued year last season and he is more productive than Palmer and Moore who everyone seems to want. If Gabe is willing to play teams I'm all for it. Even not he does all the little things blocking wise Moore does not. 1 Quote

How about the colts playoff game? How about the 13 seconds game? Those games happened. In season altering spots Josh went to Gabe. Let’s be real here. Diggs and Josh looked like they weren’t on the same page at the end too…we going to act like they didn’t have chemistry? 1 1 Quote
HappyDays Posted Tuesday at 01:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:29 PM (edited) I don't know if he's even healthy enough to play yet. When he visited Pittsburgh earlier this year he didn't pass their medical checks. I hope we are bringing him in just to do our due diligence in case we need him in an emergency situation later in the year. The offense immediately became more efficient and less mistake prone when Brady took over and started diverting targets away from Davis. I have very little interest in bringing his high variance play style back into the fold. I guess if he's used in a very very limited role I'd be okay with it. Gabe is not a good WR and our consideration to bringing him on the roster is a direct reflection of our talent. Tory Horton lasted until the 5th round and we didn't even deem it necessary to take flyer. The Beane love on this site has just gone too far. This roster is depleted at WR, DB, and is finger crossing at DL. 2 Quote
dorquemada Posted Tuesday at 01:30 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:30 PM The Bills need more players who play big in big games. That's Gabe Davis. There's zero reason not to do this 1 1 Quote
uticaclub Posted Tuesday at 01:31 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:31 PM I’ll be very upset if we re-sign Gabe Davis. The main reason Josh’s interceptions decreased was that he was no longer throwing to Davis, who was the target resulting in most of his interceptions. This would be worse than bring back Hamlin Quote

We'll pick up some scrap heap WRs in FA that everyone will lose their minds over in the offseason only to see in preseason games why they were on the scrap heap Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted Tuesday at 01:32 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:32 PM It’s august 19th. It’s not going to cost anything and it’s not going to come at the expense of anyone that matters. It’s not a bad idea here. Quote
BillsFan4 Posted Tuesday at 01:33 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:33 PM I’d be totally fine bringing him back on a cheap-ish deal. I think I’d rather see them try to find a way to bring in Justin Simmons though (who is still a free agent), especially since he specifically said he’d love to play for the Bills. Even just on a 1 year deal for now to see how he fits, and to give Bishop some more time to develop. Simmons/Rapp would be a nice safety duo. 1 1 Quote
stlbills13 Posted Tuesday at 01:37 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:37 PM A deep threat who can block is ideal. Too bad that person is Gabe Davis though 1 Quote

Theoretically he wouldn't be the #2 guy and would be used somewhat differently, more like Mack Hollins was last year, who, coincidentally, showed up for the KC game. Not sure who in the current WR room besides shakir are going to do that. 1 Quote
