Ethan in Cleveland Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Both Samuel and Hairston are hurt. Douglas is better than any back-up CB on the team now and for all we know is probably better than White. Samuel was injured all last year. Coleman looks better but so far we have not seen Palmer do much and Moore regressed when the pads went on. Cooper made plays last year. He played with a bad wrist injury. Sure seemed like the offense was better when he was on the team. He made some nice difficult catches in the a few games but disappeared in the playoffs. Maybe give it another week to see where Samuel and Hairston are in their recovery and hope that White looks better next week. Flame away... 3 6 2 1 6 1 Quote
PetermansRedemption Posted August 10 Posted August 10 I’m all for bringing in Douglas for depth and Cooper in. Samuel is useless. Quote
Sojourner Posted August 10 Posted August 10 No to Cooper. He had a couple of moments but that third round pick for relatively nothing leaves a sour taste. Douglas? Possibly but not right now. If they’re grabbing a guy off the street I’d rather they get Asante Samuel Jr. but that’s just me. Quote
Starr Almighty Posted August 10 Posted August 10 I'm not a Cooper fan. I disliked him his entire career ( too many drops) But the catch he made in the end zone last season 👀 I don't think anyone on the current roster comes down with that ball Quote
GunnerBill Posted August 10 Posted August 10 White was really not that bad. He overplayed the cushion on that one route to Robinson but the other completions on him were exactly the kind of keep it in front of you and tackle corner play this scheme demands. I think the reaction to that one play is overboard. Douglas was toast last year. I am confident we are better now. 2 9 Quote

You'd honestly rather take your chances with cooper than a guy like shavers who's been showing alot of promise? I wouldn't Edited August 10 by Steptide 3 2 Quote

There were a number of young corners out there who looked fine as backups. At WR I think it’s becoming pretty obvious they keep Shavers as the 5 th guy. How about not panicking over one preseason game. 3 Quote
Kwai San Posted August 10 Posted August 10 I agree with @Steptide and @oldmanfan - Shavers is the MUCH better younger option. My jury is still out on White. But it WAS only 1 preseason game.....I am not reaching for the red nuclear overreact power button. The wild over snap at the end lead to the loss more so than anything else. It IS preseason for cryin out loud.....they are playing combinations of personnel that god forbid if it comes to that in the reg season I would turn the tv off!!! Go Bills 1 Quote
machine gun kelly Posted August 10 Posted August 10 C’mon guys. A little overreaction Sunday. As Rogers said, R-E-L-A-X. It’s week 1 of the pre-season. They are supposed to look rusty. 1 Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted August 10 Posted August 10 I’d rather bring back Gabe Davis. at least go get a guy that had good chemistry with Josh 4 1 2 1 Quote

Don't know if it was injury or age...but I'll pass. Cooper...no thanks. I like him, but the way we are sitting at WR now, I like what we have with Shavers and want to see more of him. Plus this Wilkerson kid seems to be doing well. I'd like to see either of them with Allen running the offens before I panic. There's a reason why both Cooper and Douglas remain unsigned this late into camp. Digging up washed vets isn't going to get us anywhere. Next thing someone will say is "let's bring back Poyer". 33 minutes ago, Brianmoorman4jesus said: I’d rather bring back Gabe Davis. at least go get a guy that had good chemistry with Josh Davis, especially in his last year here, had horrible chemistry with Allen. How many times did we see them not on the same page? Literally cost us wins. 2 Quote

I think he's a guy that is said to have had a terrific camp. I think he's a guy that has a lot of experience in this defense and provides a lot of positives in leadership. He's no longer an All Pro, but he's not being asked to be a lockdown CB1 anymore. He's well suited as a CB2 in this scheme. He's got a bit left in the tank. 1 1 Quote
blacklabel Posted August 10 Posted August 10 When the combine was happening there was some buzz that Cooper's wrist injury is a career ender. He's already played 10 seasons as well. Quote
T.E. Posted August 10 Posted August 10 I am of the opinion that Cooper no longer wants to play football. Would rather roll the dice with Tre than bring back Douglas, who wasn't good last year. 1 1 Quote
