Without CC no one would know 2 players. The average person, at least.

I thought torassi retired a long time ago, short of that it's the goat, CC and the gets her own rebound queen angel.

Yeah! Fans should stick to robbing banks in their game day gear and freezing to death in snowbanks, dammit.

Good point.  It’s cool to throw things on the field at sporting events.  Perfectly acceptable.  In fact, more people should do it.

I'm a hypocrite, and I know it's a double-standard, but I think it's funny in an NFL game but disrespectful in a WNBA game.

An NFL field is huge, the sidelines are huge, there's hundreds of coaches, players, crew, etc. surrounding the field. When something gets thrown onto the field, you can barely see it unless a camera man on the ground catches a glimpse (like the endzone one), and players can continue on with a high likelihood of missing it entirely.

But in an NBA/WNBA game, fans are seated right up against the much smaller court. Players fall into spectators all the time. You can reach out & touch people on the bench. Anyone can throw something onto the middle of the court (if they wanted to). Cameras can't as easily avoid it since they're so zoomed in, and if it went further on the court, it's likely to stop play.

The WNBA is also in a different position than the rest of the leagues. It's much younger, only now breaking out & building an audience, climbing up from the bottom and now working hard to gain respect & legitimacy. Fans could throw whatever onto an NFL field & people would just laugh mock the guy who did it (or not care at all). But throwing women's sex toys onto WNBA courts just invites a ton of jokes onto the league. I've already seen a ton.

Whether it's fair or not, there's a different connotation surrounding it when the athletes are women vs when they're men.

Was I condoning bad behavior… 🤔… or was I pointing out that the glass house of Chief’s Kingdom was flimsy moral high ground? 🤷‍♂️

Oh it’s still a joke … Clark is the sole reason why they’re even mentioned at all

Name a successful business that loses $40 million a year and keeps going.  That’s the joke.

Not to mention their vile behavior towards Clark.

It’s not a serious league, they’ve been gifted a life raft and refuse to use it, once Clark is gone, back to a few thousand fans and no more segments on sports shows.

The only interesting part of that league is the drama surrounding their epic mishandling of the first needle mover the league has ever had.

Your's is one of the few posts I wholeheartedly agree with in this topic.

That said, it's kind of hilarious that you espouse these opinions and that your handle is BigDingus.

I would have thought you'd be in favor of the throwing of the sex toy.

That's way too many charges. You won't see that happen at men's games, football, basketball, etc.  shouting matches between players and fans don't even do anything.

The WNBA is a joke - this will hopefully continue.

for real.  the reaction here is only going to get more of it.  one of the betting sites is taking action on what color the next one will be.

The WNBA players are just disappointed it wasn't a strap on.

I got the hots for Sophie Cunningham. When she shows up on my Facebook reel, I click on it.

Is that the teammate to CC? I know she's got a teammate that protects her and sticks up for her that's cute.

You arent wrong.

When we throw a d1ldo at the Patriots its because we think they're a bunch of d1ldos and they can "go f#$% themselves". And there is even a divsional rivlary here.

When random fans are throwing them on the court of WOMEN'S basketball, with no bitter rivalry, the only point is to sexually embarass/intimidate/assault the female players.

It isnt even close to the same thing.

That is a lot of money to lose.  One could call them a joke in that regard.  However, they are building a brand, successfully, in many respects.

Losing money is not the only metric for a business, btw. Open AI lost $5 billion last year, 100x more than WNBA

No comment on "vile treatment"

The WNBA has lost money every single season they have been in existence lol.  28 straight years of not turning a profit.  That has never happened before and without the NBA, they would have been closed down after year 2.

AI is building and investing for the future.  Amazon was also losing money when they started because they were investing in the future.

Open AI lost $5 billion last year.  The WNBA lost $40 million.

Which business would you invest in?
