I’ve been pretty impressed with Sanders. He doesn’t seem completely out of place, but it’s preseason.

No hate but Just genuinely curious- Why are you happy for him?

 

To me (and I'm sure the majority of us) he seems like the biggest narcissist out there. Comes across as a very unlikable guy IMO

I would bet a lot of people were rooting for him to fail tonight to confirm their priors.  I don't know him personally but he seems to have handled himself exceptionally well since falling in the draft.  It's only preseason but he rose to the occasion making at least two very impressive throws.

He carries himself with a confidence that can be seen as aloofness or hubris, and obviously he's the ultimate privileged nepo baby. 

 

However, he has handled the draft debacle with apparent grace and class, and seems to possess the blend of arrogance, ambition, and self-critical awareness (often attributed to his HOF dad's lofty standards) that you really want to see in a franchise QB prospect. He's been rich his entire life, got richer during college, and has had to navigate the intense spotlight from proximity to his father's star while also being forever overshadowed.

 

He's got a lot to prove to the league. And when you listen to him, it sounds like he's got a lot more to prove to himself and to his dad. Pressure coming from outside that paternal legacy might not register much, and maybe that's when he comes off as too cool for school.

If by handled himself exceptionally you exclude the ridiculous violations of Ohio traffic laws.  June 5, ticketed at 91 in a 65mph zone, June 17, ticketed at 101 in a 60mph zone.  That puts me firmly in the "he's the ultimate privileged nepo baby" camp. 

I suspect he is smart enough to understand that much of the world now views him as an entitled nepo baby and is rooting for his comeuppance.  He appears now to be saying and doing the right things (in the last 5 weeks since he stopped speeding).   I don't know if he is trying to change his character and become an upstanding citizen or he is just trying not to get caught (by the cops or on camera) as coming across as a the entitled brat he has been for the last 5 years.

Sure.  But 101mph (41 over the limit) 12 days after getting caught doing 91mph?   The first one I can chalk up to a youthful indescretion.  The second?  IMO, that just an entitled brat.

You met him? How do you know? Every interview he has had he says the right things. Work hard. Take my reps. Study. Get better each day. Everything you wpuld expect a rookie to say. Sure their were reports of bad interviews and maybe he is a jerk, but no one really knows.

Lol... I hit 90 every day on I90 in Cleveland! But then again I am a brat...not entitled, I earned my way to being a brat...lol!
