Agreed.

If the Bills wanted Von, he would be on the roster right now.

At least he didn't make the douchebag move of signing with the Dolphins like Poyer.

I wish him luck.

Agreed. In semi-defense of Poyer though, I bet his wife played a big part in the move to a Florida team and the fact they don't have state taxes.

I doubt anyone here hates on him all that much. Injuries did him in here, unfortunately. Not his fault.

Definitely dont hate him, but I didn't like the signing from the beginning. Too rich of a contract and he was too old. Always looked at him as a mercenary and never a home grown as well, but that's the nature of the beast. His constant bs with recruiting was exactly that too... bs. Not a fan, but I wish him luck. Did he cost us a SB by putting all that cap space into his injured butt... quite possibly. But that is on the brass. Can't blame him for taking the money.

That Rams opener was something else.

Shame how it played out, but the Bills had one big contract to hand out and gave it to Von.  Looking back, what else could we have done with that money to win a Super Bowl?

We've pretty much kept everyone we’ve wanted to.  Could we have spent on a couple good, not great players in Free Agency to add the litany of those types we already have?  Sure.. does that change anything?  Benford is great but keeps getting hurt in the playoffs. They made the Rasul trade and weren’t going to supplant him.  Linebackers are set, but keep getting hurt.  Safety plan has been shown.. Rapp and a high draft pick.  OL has been elite for two years now.  Running backs set.  Paid a Knox plus a high draft pick. WR’s could use help but they literally paid Diggs to play for another team.

Bottom line is we need to hit on draft picks, specifically early in the draft where the traits more often can lead to game changing players instead of good, not great.

Game changers are rarely available.  Only reason Von became available was due to age and the Rams not offering him a third guaranteed year.

And we saw what happened..

While well-intentioned, this contract may go down as one of the worst in Bills history and a reason why Josh Allen has not yet reached a Super Bowl.

That contract has to rank pretty high in all-time blunders.

I'm sure there is one but I can't think of another Bills player with that massive a disparity of dollars vs performance.

Sorry you slept through the Dareus years.

And the contract of Miller’s wasn’t the issue.

A lot of people thought the Bills were "saving him for the playoffs" and a 3-sack game was imminent. OK all you need is a dollar and a dream.

The contract or the injury?

wow; dude looks quite skinny!

I know that’s a joke but am I the only one that thinks that Von was a lot stronger and bulkier when he was with the Broncos? He always looked small when he was here

Watch Von be the missing link for Washington as the Commanders go on to win the SB.

I would be so salty!

I disagree, Von preinjury was living up to that contract. Meanwhile guys like Derrick Dockery got overpaid and rarely produced. etc.

Dareus was the 3rd overall draft at a time when Buffalo struggled to keep their own talent, wasn't paying anyone else and the goal was wildcard not Super Bowl.

I just hope Von doesn't have a year with the skins like Dareus had with the Jags.

Sure those 11 games were fun, but this year we carry over $15M in dead cap from the Von contract and the defense is in much worse shape than it was pre Von contract.

Still, he can eat dog poo for that hit on Coleman!

If Miami wanted to pay me $5M to play safety poorly for a season, I’d be on the first plane down.

No idea how folks can harbor ill will for guys going to get paid when they can’t get a job in Buffalo.

If he wasn’t perpetually injured he would be…

So what was Von when he was here?

He said, he's an upgrade and half the price. Von is now 34-36 and Bosa is 30. Both injured, one younger and one half the price. He's not wrong.
