Let he who is without sin cast the first stone... Prayers for the Kellys

image.thumb.png.e1faf83ee59e72c4605864812c2f2de6.png

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Of course, Jim Kelly's past has nothing to do with what his daughter is going through.  Praying for a happy and healthy outcome for their baby.

Great family men don't have affairs, https://www.essentiallysports.com/nfl-legends-news-bills-legend-jim-kelly-admits-being-unfaithful-to-his-wife-during-sons-diagnosis/ Just saying. Jimbo may be better than he was but he still far from a saint.

Seriously?  He HAD an affair, confessed it to Jill, and they worked it out. My God how many years ago?  Christ let it go already, the only person it matter to, Jill, let it go a long time ago or they wouldn't be together.

Jill Kelly really is a saint and probably deserves some credit for helping Jim grow into the person he's become.   Prayers for his grandson.

I know the story.  He was a giant a-hole but now he's not.....meaning he's changed.

To be fair there are a lot of stories, and he would be easier to forgive if there wasn't also violence towards women involved.

And it wasn't a "prime years issue" it was basically until he got jaw cancer issue. I was hearing stories and first hand accounts from my south town friends well past the y2k scare.

Listen, I didn't come here to poop on Kelly or his family. Good vibes to his grandkids. But it's also so incredibly gross to put Kelly on a pedestal. People ignored what a POS Kelly was for nearly his entire life because he could throw a football. And suddenly it feels like those same people who ignored what a trash person he was because of the 90's want to use him as a shinning star because he's done the bare minimum to not be a garbage human.

Again good vibes to his family, but Jimbo deserves little to no praise for anything other than being a tough SOB and being good at throwing a football. Frankly I don't know how anybody can feel any other way about a guy who beat up women.

You evidently don't know much about saints.

Many had very "questionable" young lives.

That being said, you go on being you.

I’m far more impressed by a person who can turn their life around and become a positive force than a person who is really good at throwing a football.

As an old man, I find I try to take people as they are now.  It seems fairer.

Some of us learn faster than others, some much slower and some never at all. Regardless, I try not to jump to judgment.

I certainly hope this child is ok.  I understand all too well how scary these things can be as we had a nightmare with Ryan, my middle son who is now healthy as a horse, but was born at 2 lbs. 4oz. At 28 weeks.  Needless to say it’s fine, but the first two months I was scared every minute of everyday.

That’s rough. I can’t imagine and hope to never have to deal with anything like that. As most here know, Jim Kelly’s son, Hunter, died of Krabbe Disease, which is inherited. I hope that this is not that or any other untreatable illness and that the child is fully healthy soon.

Krabbe’s is no longer untreatable if diagnosed in time.

Their charity, Hunter’s Hope, was/is active in promoting this testing to be required and for insurances to cover it. A couple-few years ago they did testimony in front of Congress to try to get a federal mandate but it did not get included. Currently, only 12 states require testing for it.

He’s never claimed to be a saint. He’s admitted to this wrongful behavior and owned up to it. Now let he who is without sin by all means cast the first stone!

I think the issue that some people (rightfully) have is that some go out of their way to put Kelly on a pedestal, which happened on this thread.

I myself believe that if you beat up women you deserve approximately zero praise.

My quick two cents is that this thread doesn't go anywhere near disparaging Kelly unless he is weirdly propped up.

Glad he stopped cheating on his wife and beating up women. It's a shame it took cancer for him to get there.

He deserves minimal credit for doing the bare minimum.

I likely would have said nothing about Kelly's POS-ness if somebody hadn't gone out of their way to use him as a shining example of exemplary humanity. (Which he doesn't deserve)

If his wife forgives him, who am I to even question?  Don’t jump to judge people you don’t even know.

Can we all please get back to this poor child and support for the family???

Pretty sure Jim and his family dont need your "good vibes"
