I wouldn't want to see OJ's face anywhere anymore, but I'll mention he did kick returns his rookie year and bit afterwards, finishing his career with an impressive 30 yards per return average.

And I think Pete Gogolak deserves a mention just because he's the guy who popularized soccer style kicking in the NFL.  After playing for the Bills, he went to the Giants and remains to this day their leading all-time scorer.  For the youngsters in the cheap seats, before Gogolak NFL kickers would approach the ball straight on.

But I agree with the OP, Tasker, Pike, and Moorman are all obvious choices.  I'm not sure who I'd add after that.  Bobby April is a good option if we're considering coaches too.

Agree with Gogolak!

"AI Summary

There were a bunch of TBD stans for this fart in the wind.  My favorite was "do you even know what a gunner is??"

Your comment has absolutely nothing to do with best Special Teams players. But Hey! Thanks for playing…

Yes, it does. Gogolak played how many games for the Bills? 26. Just 26. ----Bills---- Special Teams, not NFL Special Teams Who Played For The Bills

Pete was the difference in back to back League titles. Nuff said. 🤨

This list, plus Terrence McGee imo.  What a joy it was watching him return kicks, he was also a great cb

Is my memory failing me?  Wasn't McGee the CB who would blanket receivers but let them catch the ball anyway?

The Chargers scored just 7 points in those two games, so yeah I don't think Pete was the decider and he didn't play on defense.

Tasker - Gunner

Christie - Kicker

Moorman - Punter

McGee - Returner

Pike - Mt Rushmore isn't complete without him so this Mt has 5.

Yeah, I think frostbitmic nailed it for me...while also acknowledging that I didn't get to see players such as McGuire, Moody, and Gogalak.

Don't think they'd make the BB Mt. Rushmore, because I assume a lot of their ST tackles came with other teams (Jax and Minn, respectively), but there are two Bills on the All-Time Special Teams Tackles list: Paul Posluszney (at 13) and Antoine Winfield (at 17).

Again, not Mt. Rushmore worthy, but other guys who came to mind (with a little digging): Siran Neal, Tyler Matakevich, Taiwan Jones, Roscoe Parrish, Jeff Burris, Leodis McKelvin, George Wilson, Mario Hagan, Marcus Easley, John Wendling, Scott Norwood, Chris Mohr, Reid Ferguson, Garrison Sanborn, Adam Linger, Sam Aiken, Lorenzo Alexander.

FYI:

John Wendling led the league in ST tackles in 2009 (he was second in the league in ST tackles in 2010, but with Detroit at that point).

Marcus Easley led the league in ST tackles in 2013.

Tasker obviously 1st, but Christie would be 2nd for me.  He was by far our best kicker in the 40 years I’ve followed the team.  Kickers are also way more valuable than punters in my opinion.  Moorman was a great punter but we would’ve lost just as many games with an average punter.
