Just checking in.  Are all the people that wanted Cook traded or cut because of all the fabricated drama from the media still angry?

Over Cook showing up to mandatory minicamp?

You’re too emotional.

the guy has the best leverage of his career, saw every other player in his draft class get paid, and doesn’t want to play on the last year of his deal as a RB. It makes total sense from his side. Guy barely talks and has gotten better every year. He was the best player in the title game.

I like Ray Davis (great dude off the field as well) and Johnson but people are going to be surprised when there is a drop off if/ when they have to play more. It’s crazy but maybe the guy who was 3rd best at breaking long runs last year is important to this team.

Agreed and I think both sides want to make a deal. But I get it from both sides. TJ watt and Hendrickson are doing the same thing. It’s part of negotiating.

Beane stated they made an offer, Cook declined. Buffalo did the right thing , they just couldn't come to an agreement,  simple as that, honor your contract

He is honoring his contract. To the letter. He skipped voluntary workouts and now is present for mandatory minicamp. Nothing Cook has done has gone remotely beyond the pale.

Not even holding in:

This is why I would find a way to make a deal work with him.  Soft spoken, team guy.  Showed up to Minicamp.  Will show up to training camp.  Agents, media all think he should hold out.

Agreed. Just saw the news, was just initially answering about him holding out. Glad there's no distractions

I suppose too the reason he's showed up is his agent and Bills have been talking and are very close to a deal and Cook and Sean all know it.  Maybe will be announced by the end of the week, or not?

Oh wow, I reached 10K posts.  I guess my Hallmark card is in the mail.

The Anti-Cook crew around here have to be in shambles today.

You should hear WGR right now.  They are complaining that he's not holding out because they don't have anything to talk about now.

The only thing Bills fans like more than winning is complaining. So that sounds about right.

Who cares what the media thinks.. he has a contract you honor your contract

I have a million plus reasons why he should show up and play football

I thought that if Cook came to mini-camp it meant he would play out his contract and then depart in free agency.  Now that he has reported, I still think it is a long shot that any other outcome happens.  There is a slim chance, I would guess that the Bills can work out some kind of deal.  The Buffalo News is suggesting a two-year bridge deal.  I'm happy with whatever might keep him a Bill.  We'll see.

This is the lamest of arguments.  Again did the Bills honor Tre White's contract??? When the deals are fully guaranteed then you can say honor your contract. Until then it is all a negotiation.

Oh, that easy?

I think Cook's agent would slam the phone down on your ear at that offer.

And Cook could also blow his ACL out or tear his achilles in October. And totally destroy his projected net worth.

Or he could take a sure thing of 35 or 40 million now. Invest it wisely. And live comfortably off of it for the rest of his life.

I guess it depends if he's willing to gamble. That's why the guaranteed money is so important to players. And to be honest the agent is taking the exact same risk. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.

Dude what? of course it's a negotiation,  that's part of the game.

I'm saying Cook is under contract for the season,  honor it.

As far as Tre, he got paid here and whatever guarantees were warranted were given.

I don't see the point you're trying to make
