I don't know if it holds true in Merry Olde but over here you generally have 10-20 people (many of whom may be strangers or never have participated) and are executing an intricately timed ceremony without the benefit of any sort of real time instruction. When you also take into consideration that pre-wedding brides are temporarily insane, high-strung sociopathic perfectionists that are liable to murder anybody who fails to make their day perfect, then you'll realize that taking a 20 minute walkthrough can possibly save multiple lives. 3 1 5 2 Quote

I’m curious if any dads who have actually hosted a daughters wedding agree with that opinion. In my experience, brides want every thing to go smoothly on their wedding day. Don’t get me wrong. I think todays weddings are very much “over produced”. My girls were both strongly encouraged to hire a “wedding planner” for another couple thousand on top of other costs. To their credit both girls figured that they didn’t need a planner. But a quick run through so everyone knows what they do when? I think that’s a good idea. Depends on the daughter. Mine was very casual. My grand nephew and wife had one that would make the last Royal wedding look like a church picnic. Edited Sunday at 07:52 PM by PromoTheRobot Quote

You sound like Fr Timlin during my sister’s wedding. He asked “why do we even bother? Everybody ends up divorced!” He said this right on the altar during the wedding….more than 50 years ago, and they are still happily married. I really don’t think it’s just to spite him, but he’d deserve it. . Edited Sunday at 09:06 PM by Augie 1 1 Quote

It also looks like Terry Pegula sitting next to Beane and Shakir sitting in McDermott’s row. 2 Quote

Legit question. Is there a gift registry for weddings of insanely rich people like this? I would assume no. I would assume you just show up and there’s super expensive everything and you just gorge.
