SCBills Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I remember thinking we were winning the Super Bowl walking out of SoFi Stadium a few years ago. Week 1 means nothing over a long season, aside from it being a W or L. That being said, always give us the tough opponent because Week 1 can be a liar and we get a weird game like Pittsburgh a few years back.. or what Arizona could have very easily been last year if not for Josh Allen going superhero mode and having to play with a broken hand for most of the year. K D Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Ravens are a running team. Running game is easier to get going than passing. Derrick Henry will be much better game 1 than game 17. Their last game was losing to us and their next game is revenge for them. I don't like this matchup week 1 1 Quote

If the game was in Baltimore, where they have natural grass, then your statement would make sense because natural grass grows on dirt. When dirt gets wet, it turns into mud. So since this is a home game, there is a possibility they stomp us but it won't be in mud. "Curb stomp" wouldn't apply either because there isn't any curbs on the field. I encourage you to use another phrase more applicable. 1 1 1 Quote

And even if the Bills lose, they will likely start the season 6-1 or 5-2 anyway. Also, a loss gives Buffalo the revenge factor back in their corner for a potential playoff matchup. It's tough to beat the top AFC teams twice in the same season as we know from KC. Quote

mjt328 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago The Bills have historically also been a slow starter under Sean McDermott (with the exception of the Rams): - First half last year against the Cardinals - Losing to the Jets in the Aaron Rodgers/Achilles game - Steelers home opener With each passing year, I'm becoming less and less concerned about how the team starts the season. Barring significant injuries, I just can't see this team winning less than 11 games with this schedule. It's doubtful anyone really pushes them for the AFC East title. And even though homefield would be really nice, it's not anywhere near the top reason we keep losing to the Chiefs in the playoffs. Quote
BigAl2526 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I'm fine with it, but I'm sure not deluding myself that it will be a cakewalk. McDermott and Babich had better have that run defense figured out, or it could be a long game. Quote

There are still a lot of people saying the Bills should have lost the playoff game and were outplayed physically by the Ravens. I don’t agree. The Bills led that game almost the entire way (after Baltimore’s opening TD) and Buffalo RBs (not Allen) rushed 26 times for 127 yards against the vaunted Baltimore run defense. Did Lamar make a couple of mistakes? Yes. Did the TE drop a tying 2-pt conversion? Yes. But the Bills played mistake-free on offense and drove for two 4th quarter FGs to keep the Ravens at arms length. If Baltimore had tied it, the Bills still had time to go and get a winning FG of their own. It was hardly a game Baltimore “dominated” and then bungled away. I’m looking forward to the new pieces on D and how the offense will evolve further under Brady. It won’t be the end of the world if the Bills lose, and it won’t mean they’re going undefeated if they win. It will simply be a great opener between two excellent teams. Even if Anderson catches that conversion, the Bills get the ball back with a minute and a half, with two timeouts. Does anyone really think that Josh wouldn’t have driven down the field for a walk off FG? 2 1 Quote

Gugny Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I feel like there is no chance we win this game. No biggie. But we’re starting 0-1, for sure. Go Beels! 1 1 1 Quote

The Bills went undefeated at home last year including a win over the Ravens. They may very well lose as the Ravens are a good team but so are the Bills. This will probably be a close game that could go either way. I give the edge to the Bills since it's in OP. The Bills in the McDermott era have been very good at home so their home dominance goes beyond just last year. Quote

By September 5th, I’ll have the Bills winning by two scores. It’s a process. Not a McDermott kind of process. Christ, I’d be dead in two weeks after all that clapping, rah rah bullsh*t. I digress. Be better. Do better. Praise be to Allah. Go Bills. 1 1 1 Quote
