This was the exact game that came to mind for me too.  Jeff George came in with great fanfare as the #1 draft pick, and there was a thought it could serve as a preview of a future rivalry between the teams if he turned out to be the real deal.  Like you said, we harassed him all game and he didn't have much around him talentwise, but he hung in there until Cornelius Bennett rearranged his mental state early in the fourth quarter.  I remember how euphoric the stadium was when he got knocked out cold (obviously, a much different time).  What a terrible way to start in the league (even worse for his folks in the stands hearing the crowd erupt over the pummeling of your child).

Looks like my No Huddle crowd eruption memory is wrong.

Last year's game against Miami. We were in town for my son's hockey tournament and snagged tickets to the game in Early November. Ended up being a gorgeous day around 60 degrees for my two boy's first regular season game (6 and 9 yo) and they got to witness a game winning 61 yard field goal.

There have been plenty of games that trump this one in product on the field, but getting a picture of my boys shirtless and flexing among bills mafia... priceless!

Yes, we all love the classics, but what random-ass games stick out for you as a great memory?

I'll start by nominating our home game against Miami in the 2002 season. Ricky Williams running wild, the snow coming out of nowhere, Bledsoe and Moulds taking over, Jim Kelly running up and down the sidelines in jubilation. Just a great, fun game all around.

The 2003 season opening 31-0 beat down of New England. I thought the Bills were going to be THE premier 2000s AFC team. Mostly because of the defense. I thought they were building something special. If I only knew how bad it would eventually become.

An honorable mention to the Texans game where JP Losman hit a couple 83 yard bombs to Evan’s (how poetic) and the game winner to Peerless Price. Just a great game with some huge plays that went down to the wire.

Nope.

@Ned FlandersSurprised  surprised me too. Prolly sold out, but not in the 72 hour window to lift the blackout.

I believe the comeback game had same situation, but I may be wrong that it did sell out...

i am certain was not televised which shows how technology stunk back then cause 400K people attended the game and did not leave, and somehow they did not know in time

It was blacked out although if you had satellite back then apparently you could get the game as my dad watched it at his uncles who had satellite.

And yes the correct number in attendance was 750k and the snowbowl had 300k vs IND

Bills/Jets ‘88 AFC East 9-6 clincher.

My brother is on the field celebrating playing tug of war with total strangers with the net. Net rips, he goes flying back, falls, disappears in the crowd. Like uh-oh? Where is he? Pops up holding a piece of netting like he won the WWE belt.

Afterwards, I say good thing you weren’t trampled. He says my glasses fell off, I didn’t want to lose the netting so with one hand I’m reaching through feet to get them, which, kind of amazingly, he did without getting stepped on or the glasses getting crushed.

Fun times.

Oops sorry, didn’t catch the non-classic game posit. That be any rainy game back then where lines formed to slide down the couple wet grass slopes inside the stadium like a slide. They still do that?

I was there, still have a little piece of that netting actually 👍

Bills vs Giants 1987 strike game. 6-3 overtime win. Game sucked but Lawerence Taylor crossed the picket line and we were yelling at him the whole game. He  walked by and my buddy called him a Coke head and he gave us the finger. Mildly entertaining we laughed all the way out to the parking lot. I remember Kelly, Smerlas, and a few others were picketing outside the stadium. I remember a sign on the wall that said “ Hey Fred if your nose went on strike, how long would you pick it?” If you remember Fred’s nose, that was a classic 🤦‍♂️

1981 season opener with 31-0 win over the Jets. They followed that up in week 2 with a 35-3 win over the Baltimore Colts.

The 1980 season they opened against Miami I think we won for the first time in a long time and tore the goal posts down. The next week against the Jets the tunnel end goal post started to lean over in the first quarter. The brought out a fork lift to straighten it and then tighten the bolts that held it in place. Every one was yelling at the guy to get it level 🤦‍♂️

Took my son to his 1st game here. It was Lawrence Taylor vs the Bills and LT nearly won it. Todd Scholpy rules forever in Bills lore.

At Bengals on a Saturday 2005. Made me realize how much wins mean even if they hurt your draft standing and franchise. It’s very hard to tank in the NFL since winning even meaningless games is meaningful to many.
