MJS Posted Friday at 07:29 PM Posted Friday at 07:29 PM Great video here on Landon Jackson and how he uses excellent hands, pass rush moves, length, and explosiveness as an edge rusher. Also mentioned is that his production was hurt because Arkansas used a lot of 3 linemen sets on their defense. This video was made pre-draft, so he mentions that he might not even go in the 1st round, but we know he didn't go until the 3rd round. Great pick by Buffalo! 9 1 4 10 Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted Friday at 07:33 PM Posted Friday at 07:33 PM Let's hope. I'm getting a little tired of our guys "almost" getting there. 12 12 1 3 Quote
Mikie2times Posted Friday at 07:36 PM Posted Friday at 07:36 PM He comes with the dreaded high motor tag, but I think he is a lot more than that. REALLY looking forward to seeing what he can do. 2 2 Quote
Nihilarian Posted Friday at 07:39 PM Posted Friday at 07:39 PM I've read that some had him rated as a high first-round grade, and yet he fell to the third for Buffalo. Perhaps it was his love for his micro golden Doodle named Honey. 1 Quote

Sanders being an immediately better pass rusher than Oliver Jackson rotating in 40-50% of the snaps filling in for when Bosa or Rousseau come out & getting 8-10 sacks Deone Walker being healthy, playing 30 snaps per game and DESTROYING the pocket this is what's needed. 8 2 3 Quote

Epenesa is a fairly good depth player, who seems to have a few games per year where he makes huge plays He's one of the biggest hitters on QB's too. I mean absolutely HAMMERS the QB when he does get sacks 5 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted Friday at 07:58 PM Posted Friday at 07:58 PM (edited) That is one scary looking dude. Watching that video I did see some Crosby...but the way he plays with that intensity...kid of reminds me of a younger Joey Bosa too Edited Friday at 08:01 PM by BuffaloBillyG 1 Quote
YattaOkasan Posted Friday at 07:59 PM Posted Friday at 07:59 PM The 3 down lineman wasnt something i realized when i looked pre draft, but after i heard post draft became a bit more excited. Likely means he had to play run to pass as well as being inside of the tackle as a 4i. Notably Deone Walker also found himself in some 3 down lineman sets (though he benefited some when he was outside more). 1 Quote

SoonerBillsFan Posted Friday at 08:09 PM Posted Friday at 08:09 PM His hands are what I notice 1st. They are active at the point of attack, no shouldering his way into the backfield. 1 1 Quote
Dave_Bills Posted Friday at 08:14 PM Posted Friday at 08:14 PM I hope we aren’t expecting too much. Jackson has good potential but he won’t blow past too many people. His game is strength. I expect him to become a starter down the line but I’m reigning in my expectations for this year at least. the NFL is a different beast. still love the pick and he’s great value. 3 1 Quote
ngbills Posted Friday at 08:18 PM Posted Friday at 08:18 PM (edited) His tape does not look good to me. His movements look awkward and slow. Reminds me of watching high school tape, a lot of thinking and not doing. Plays very high too and seems to lack explosiveness. Watching him you dont see a "beast" that is dominating the guy across from him, whether physically dominant, faster, smarter etc. Edited Friday at 08:19 PM by ngbills 1 1 3 2 Quote
Logic Posted Friday at 08:21 PM Posted Friday at 08:21 PM If he winds up being Chris Kelsay/Ryan Denney, I'll be happy. That is, an edge setting, run stopping defensive end who can pitch in some pass rush in spurts and add value to the defensive line rotation. And before anyone waves away my invocation of those two names: One played 10 years in the NFL, the other played 9. That's a good career. Jackson's a third round pick, and usually edge rushers that fall to the third round -- great DL draft or not -- don't turn into premium pass rushers. Obviously, it's not a guarantee, and I'll be rooting for him to exceed expectations and ball out for Buffalo. But if he can work into the rotation, add some juice, and set the edge, I'll consider him a worthwhile 3rd round pick. 8 1 1 Quote
RobbRiddick Posted Friday at 08:22 PM Posted Friday at 08:22 PM I am excited about seeing this guy. He looks good on film and also looks like a football player. An old school player. You can imagine this guy on the 85 Bears. 1 1 Quote
wppete Posted Friday at 08:23 PM Posted Friday at 08:23 PM Lets hope so. Seems like a great pick. Hope he puts it all together quick. Have him on 1st and 2nd downs and being in Joey Bosa on 3rd downs fresh and hungry to attach the QB! 2 Quote

Crosby has elite lateral agility. Jackson didn’t do the shuttle or 3 cone, but he seems more on the stiff side. He definitely plays upright. If he has a problem in the NFL I think that’ll be why. Very nice size and length though. Seems to work hard. Good use of his hands too. I can see him becoming a solid starter or excellent #3 DE. Good value where we got him in the draft. I can see him being the reason we don’t bring back Epenesa in 2026. 6 Quote
